I think in part it has to do with Sanchez, in part we had no one on the other side adept at playing the screen well.

Leon was supposed to but he got killed...

Sanchez being a young QB and shaky at times was part of it.

Another key reason, though, was that Leon Washington was injured early in the season and the other tailbacks are not good pass receivers. Thomas Jones has only been okay as a receiver and Shonn Greene's a regular Christian Okoye and Bo Jackson when it comes to catching passes.

The Jets ran the WR screen to the SE several times fairly successfully early last season when Chansi Stuckey was at SE. It was about the only play to him that he consistently executed well in that span. Then it got blown up a couple of times against New Orleans, Stuckey got traded, and the Jets didn't run the play again all season or barely so.

I remember thinking that the Saints were waiting for that play and we were lucky they didn't blow it up for a pick-6. Either Sanchez or Stuckey were tipping the play and the Jets just didn't use it after the two of them were broken up by the trade.
