he's not good, but his WRs suck. I put it more on them. They don't get open much, and when they do, they often drop the ball. Millen says the parts of the OU defense that run well is the linebackers and secondary. I guess his main point is that LBs and DBs are faster than defensive linemen. Who knew?
Matt Millen now arguing that the Big East is good. Sorry, they don't deserve a BCS bid. When your representative at the BCS Bowl is a 14+ point underdog and proves the spread correct, and this is following a pattern from past years, your automatic bid should be investigated. Big East in BCS Bowls: 2009: Cincinnati loses 20-7 to Hokies 2010: Cincinnati loses 51-24 to Gators 2011: UConn is blown out by OU
Baldwin's size and speed will carry him to the first round but I really think that if he comes out this season then he's setting himself up to be a waste of a draft pick with his attitude. I'd love to see him come back to Pitt and prove he's a bigger man then his recent actions have shown but given Pitts current coaching dilemma, I don't see it happening. Jon Baldwin has a chance to be one of the best WRs in the NFL. Unfortunately, I think his coachability(or lack thereof) is going to kill him in the pros. Kansas City delenda est.
I think the bigger point is that he picked the wrong year to have a serious negative. Size and speed may carry him over some guys without the physical tools, but there are four guys that have the same traits with better production and without the issues.
UCONN's coach Randy Edsall is apparently heading to Maryland. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5981463
Considering that there's only one bowl game today (as there is the rest of the way, except that they're skipping Wednesday), I don't get why it's starting after 8:30. Usually they start at 8, so it at least gets done before midnight on the East Coast. It's the Orange Bowl, so it's not because it's a West Coast game. I expect IJR to chime in soon. Good matchup.
Missouri QB Blaine Gabbert announced Monday that he will forgo his senior season with the Tigers and enter the 2011 NFL draft. A two-year starter as Chase Daniel's successor at Mizzou, Gabbert completed 61.2 percent of his passes and posted a combined 40:18 TD-to-INT ratio in his sophomore and junior seasons. Unlike Daniel, Gabbert is ideally built (6'5/235) and offers plenty of arm strength. Questions facing Gabbert will be his ability to adjust from a shotgun-only spread offense to a pro-style scheme, as well as suspect pocket presence and downfield accuracy. If he impresses in pre-draft workouts, Gabbert has the potential to be a top-ten overall pick. Rotoworld 3:50pm Lot of QBs to choose from ---- stilll waiting on Andrew Luck, though.
All season long, I've wondered why, with one of the best QBs in the country, Harbaugh ever gives the ball to a true freshman in the Wildcat. Oh well, Luck makes it a moot point.
There's really no reason Harbaugh and Luck shouldn't just package deal it to Carolina. Absolutely none. Harbaugh will get his NFL shot and it'll be with a kid he developed half the way already.
