Jake Locker's final game tonight.... Just hoping he performs at least well if not alright. He looked bad vs Braska the 1st time around. Got ND/MIA tomorrow to look up to as well.
Finally a good bowl game.... Kansas St and Syracuse are putting on fireworks. Flea flickers, 4th down conversions. Its been a great game back and forth.
agreed. K-State down 8, with one chance here to tie it, thanks to Syracuse missing an XP and then missing a 2 pt conversion (to tr and make up for the XP)
They had to end this game with one of the worst calls ever. KSU WR after scoring a TD late in the game does a simple salute to the fans and that cost 15 yds for the 2 pt conversion. That is fuckin' pathetic.
How about the horrible play call for K-State on the two point conversion. A play-action pass...really?
QB had the WR open but overshot him.........poor execution on the QB's end. Momentum was probably stolen by that call though. Still nevertheless great game....wanted some OT though.
I didn't like the formation or the call. It looked like a jump ball situation to me. I wanted to see overtime too, but I'm glad Syracuse is somewhat relevant again.
really enjoyed watching both backs, carter and thomas. Any insight on their pro prospects? I am aware Carter is a senior, who is near the top of the charts of Syracuse career rushing record, but I don't know much about thomas.
As of right now, Daniel Thomas is a top five running back prospect. If I had to do a top five today, it'd look like this: 1. Alabama's Mark Ingram 2. Illinois' Mikel LeShoure 3. Virginia Tech's Ryan Williams 4. Oklahoma's DeMarco Murray 5. Kansas State's Daniel Thomas LeShoure might have that top spot sooner than later though. Wisconsin's John Clay, USC's Allen Bradford, and Nevada's Vai Taua could move up. Delone Carter is a really underrated running back right now. If he runs well, he'll probably be a late third to early fourth round selection. I think he's got the ability to a solid player in a committee.
Fuck Tyler Bray. He was a verbal commitment to Fresno State during his junior season. He bailed to go play for Lane Kiffin at Tennessee. When Kiffin left for USC, he didn't offer Bray a scholarship. There's a lesson in loyalty.
good information to have. I can't wait to see Clay run against TCU. it should be a great game. Also what are your thoughts on Marcus Sales? He had 3 td grabs today, nearly snared a 4th, and although he wasnt all that great early on this year, he clearly finished the season strong. being a junior, he obviously will be back next season, but I'm just curious on your thoughts about his ability to develop into a top receiver in the big east next year...
Marcus Sales definitely had a big time performance today, but I'm not sure he'll have many more games like that. This is a kid that's done close to nothing so far in his career. He looked good today, but Kansas State doesn't exactly have the best pass defense. Sales isn't big, he's not that fast, and he's been unproductive. It'll be tough for him to pass Big East receivers like Rutgers' Mo Sanu and Mark Harrison, Cincy's DJ Woods, and WVU's Tavon Austin.
This sport is becoming a joke. UNC throws a deep pass and a Tennessee safety put a hard hit on the Tarheel receiver. 15 yard penalty for "launching".
the one they called in the Cuse - K-State game was garbage as well, I believe the explanation was "hit high on the body"
North Carolina had a chance to tie but completely fubared it line up for a spike, but the FG team was running onto the field
now they're saying they'll get another chance, even though they spiked it with too many players on the field one second left Logically, I don't see why NC should get another shot here.
