Now I am not going to get too ahead of myself considering this is his 1st game with the Irish, but Coach Kelly has this D looking so much better. More opportunistic with turnovers, they come more after the QB and they made one of the better WRs in Smith invisible for some plays at one point(He is getting alot of catches up though right now) .

Crist has looked crisp thus far. Cierre Wood was a huge spark early on in the 1st and of course Floyd/Rudolph when given passes make the most of it.

Notre Dame looks awesome so far. I don't know if its because Purdue stinks or what but ND has really taken them out.

Michigan will be a tough test next week though no doubt. Robinson might give the Irish D fits.

And just as I say that, because of a safety Purdue offense takes advantage and then has a great QB fake for the TD run.

Ole Miss is battling Jacksonville St right now and both are about to go to 2OT. Disgraceful by the Rebels.

Jax St gets a TD on 4th and 15 and then go for the 2 point convo to win the game on 2OT.

Jacksonville St has so much heart to will their way to win on the road like that. Ole Miss defense is absolutely disgraceful.

    Observations on the afternoon games..

Denard Robinson looked really really good. They got a big game next week against ND, If he does the same thing he did today we may be looking at the next Pat White. Their defense also looked suprisingly good, but like Robinson they'll be tested alot more next week.

Ole Miss sucks. Masoli or not that was a pretty pathetic performance. Jacksonville St. absolutely wanted that game more, I can tell that just from the highlights.

Notre Dame looked good and I really cant wait to that Michigan game. Their whole offense was pretty good, but they'll have to put up more points next week, if they are going to beat Michigan, because I have a feeling ND's defense will have a problem with the speed of Robinson.

As for tonight's game Im really intrested in how this BYU and Washington game finishes, it already has been a pretty exciting game so far.

Yeah, Ole Miss definitely is off to a miserable start. For me it's going to suck going into work, especially in enemy territory.

At least they were good when I was up there. Maybe when I make my triumphant return for law school they'll be better.

A few Cotton Bowl's... that's about the ceiling for them so yes by that standard they were good.

BTW way to go by the other Gamecock's. I knew a guy that played baseball there so I know he is gonna celebrate this like they won the title. Not bad for a mid level D1AA school. (sorry I refuse to call them subdivision)

BTW what's up with Florida running it up against Miami? Anybody who watched that game knows they were not 20+ better then a garbage team. 26 yards of offense at the start of the 4th q against that makes me think Myer may wish he stayed retired. It's one game but it might be a rough season in Gainesville.

LSU looks really, really good in the early going. 30-10 lead at the half.

Two Wisconsin turnovers lead to two UNLV TDs.

    17-14 Wisconsin

I have no idea why Big East schools want to go and open their week 1 vs Fresno St. They put a stomping on Rutgers last year I believe and are punishing Cincy late in this game.

What is next? West Virgina vs Fresno St next year? The Bulldogs put on a good show every time they get their national TV games.

The pass rush tonight was fucking amazing - three guys with multiple sacks. I love it!

Chris Carter and Logan Harrell absolutely dominated Cincy's offensive line.

Zach Collaros looked like a scary little kid during most of the second half - I'm really surprised at how poorly he played tonight. I think he had -30 to -40 yards rushing because of sacks.

Ryan Colburn finally stepped up and put up big numbers against a Big Six school. He was slinging it tonight.

versus announcers just said that wisconsin's games against Ohio State and Iowa will decide the "Big 12 championship"

UNLV loses, but it could've been a lot worse, and they've kept it within 21. :)

What's wrong with that? Iowa and Wisconsin are the only teams in the Big 10 that have a legitimate shot to take down Ohio State.

I think Iowa and Wisconsin have the talent to beat Ohio State, but it will be tough.

Ohio State will only go as far as Pryor takes them and he can take them to the promised land if his head is right.

    oh shut up.

I like to point out when announcers say stupid things. The quotes should've been a hint to you.

It still kind of shocks me how LSU can still make that game close when it was obvious we were out performing UNC on both sides of the ball. Of course the important thing is that LSUs offense actually looked together and Jefferson actually displayed some ok QB instincts. Also my guys Peterson and Sheppard looked awesome (Oh note to Garry Crowton Russell Sheppard had 2 rushes, 5 receptions , and 2 TDs Im going to let you figure out what I want you to do with Shep). We almost lost this game because of our coaching (see last UNC TD, Peterson Blitzing????) Its very clear now the only thing preventing LSU from being a great team is the coaching staff
