Definitely not. Fresno State is in rebuilding mode, but they're still more talented than most mid-majors - they rushed for well over 200 yards the two previous weeks and Boise held them just 40 yards rushing. In my opinion, Boise State is better than TCU.
They might be better then the Frogs but it doesn't look like we'll get to find out. I used the argument that because Boise beat Oregon last year and Boise is better this year and hasn't lost a game in nearly 2 years so there is no way that in the rankings Oregon should not be ranled ahead of Boise even though the Ducks could be better.
I heard people complaining after they crushed LaTech. Those people obviously didn't watch the game as Boise essentially handed LaTech 2 TDs. It was OMG they gave up 20 points to LaTech.
That is a terrible argument. One season has absolutely nothing to do with the next. Oregon's ranked ahead of Boise now because they beat better teams this year, it should have nothing to do with how last year went.
Then why even have preseason rankings? They're meaningless. I can promise you if it was Notre Dame that had the same exact schedule Oregon would not have passed them. Your SOS holds no water either because if you look at Kansas from 2 years ago they beat absolutely nobody. They didn't play Texas or Oklahoma yet they were an eyelash from playing for the national title. Then we have Auburn who beat 5 teams in the top 15 yet were forced to watch Oklahoma give up 55 points to USC in the title game* and oh those 2 beat a combined 3 top 15 teams but because they both started ahead of Auburn they had no shot.
I don't like Oregon, so I'm hoping Stanford destruction of Cal puts a big hit on Oregons strength of opponent.
Not much going on this week with Auburn and Oregon off. At this point, I just want to see how it's going to shake out in terms of the championship game.
