Maehl continues to be left open. How many TDs does he have to score before USC decides to start covering him?
 ref in Oregon/USC thinks offensive holding is a 5 yard penalty. Someone (another ref?) yelled at him "10 yard penalty!" and then he corrected it. Now a minute later, he runs back and says it's been declined. This crew is pretty bad. They had major confusion in the first half regarding a penalty on Oregon.
F--king Georgia. They didnt deserve to win that game, but neither did Florida. How can you attempt only about 6-7 throws to the best WR in college? I know the guy was covered by Janorice Jenkins, but just throw it up there ---- he always seems to get it. I'm not so sure I would fire Mark Recht, though.
I'd fire Richt. The guy's done a very good job at Georgia for a long time, but his time is up. I hate the way he pushes religion onto his players. It's football, not church.
PAC has dominant offenses, but some teams definitely play defense. Stanford had its 2nd shutout against a PAC team this season last night.
Just throwing this out there, but I think Aaron Murray's going to be one hell of a Quarterback by the time he's a senior. Short, but he's got some big talent.
Surprising start in Blacksburg. Ga Tech up 14-0 on two rushing TDs by Nesbitt. Nesbitt now has the record for most TDs scored by a QB, although he isn't really a quarterback. Just one of several RBs and the one who happens to take the snaps.
Same could be said for Tyrod Taylor. It's too bad he never developed the way most expected him to. That INT in the end zone was horrific. Tech is a real QB away from being a national title contender.
Taylor can throw a lot better than Nesbitt can. Once again, bad things happen when Nesbitt tries to pass.
Taylor is completing about 64% of his passes, and had a 15/3 TD/INT ratio going into tonight. Nesbitt injured his arm trying to tackle the DB who had picked him off. GT probably won't have another drive this half anyway, so he has some time.
Saying he can throw better than Nesbitt isn't saying much as Nesbitt is a glorified RB. The problem is Taylor's never developed into a pro style QB as was his intention when arriving in Blacksburg. He's never lived up to the pro style QB everyone at Tech envisioned him to be.
I said Nesbitt isn't a QB. You then said Taylor isn't a QB. I disagree with that. He led FBS in YPA last year and is 5th this year. He's on a vastly different level than Nesbitt.
Taylor throws it away with a defender hanging on him. The defender was still trying to take him down, so Taylor just pushed with one arm and the GT guy went flying three yards.
You misunderstand the point I was making. When I said "the same could be said for Taylor" I was just making the point that he wasn't the pro style QB that Va Tech expected him to be or needs him to be in order to be a national title contender. You can throw the stats away. I've been following Taylor since he was a soph in HS. He never lived up to the hype that he had coming into Tech. This Tech team has underachieved the last few years because he can't win the big games. He's not a big time college QB even if you want to throw stats out that try to support it by saying he's #5 in the FBS in this stat or that stat. This team has enough talent to be a national title team but they can't win the big game and he's never performed great in those type of games. Average yes, great definitely not.
Well, I was just trying to say that he's not an RB like Nesbitt, and you seemed to be implying that they're both RBs. That was my original post. No, Taylor hasn't lived up to the hype, but that's a far cry from comparing him to Nesbitt and saying he also isn't a QB. I didn't say he's a big time QB. I was expressing my disagreement with this post. Anyway, GT scores a TD to tie it, but then VT special teams strikes with a KR TD.
It took over 59 minutes of football, but Georgia Tech finally completed their second pass of the night. Yellow Jackets driving, but not much time left. They gotta punch one in.
