You filled critical needs for thr Titans. A WR would have been nice too, but you can't get everything.

Mack was a very good choice, I might have taken Coye Francis over Parson. Baker will help for depth and Haynesworth may not be back, I believe they have a clause they can't franchise him another year.

    Overall......Good Job!

I love the Mack pick, he will be a solid building block for years to come, I like Centers being leaders of O-lines and this guy is showing that potential.

I do not know Baker at all, and my knowledge is limited on Parsons, but he seems to be quite highly regarded.

They do need the positions you chose so it looks pretty good

I also respect your opinion quite a bit on players so I would imagine these are guys I should take a look at

I not too familiar with the 49ers needs, but Brown will help.....Manny Lawson has been a disappointment.

I gave you mega props for Pettigrew (One of the best picks in Rd1)....he's going to be great with Matt Ryan, great value late in Rd 1. Chung is a need and a very good player.

Well you really added some beef to San Francisco's lines. That's two of the biggest players in the draft!

Does SF run a power blocking scheme ? Because Johnson is only really suited to taking out the guy directly in front of him. He definitely is not a player you want trying to block in space.

And I really liked Brace in the Senior Bowl. He looked stout and was effective against the top players this year on the interior OL.

    Atlanta Falcons
    24) Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State
    55) Patrick Chung, S, Oregon
    90) Dorell Scott, DT, Clemson

I like Pettigrew at TE a lot. That's the one position that Atlanta doesn't have. And every young QB's best friend is his TE. So it would be great to see Ryan and Pettigrew play together for several years. Brandon looked like a man among boys at the Senior Bowl. His size gave him an advantage in both blocking and in receiving. Pettigrew would help Atlanta a lot.

The only other position I think that might have been considered was DT since that's Atlanta's biggest need. Was Hood taken at that point ? I might have considered him. But going BPA for another position of need (TE) with the Falcons is definitely a solid choice.

Yeh it actually makes me this drafts version of RaiderJeaux I suppose, I figure they needed some more power on the line, especially the right side as the run blocking looked weak this past season. Gore got killed and I think they really want to give him the rock a ton this year with Singletary looking at the power running attack. Jennings is also quite a small, but quick RT so they need somewhat of a mauler in there.

I liked alot of the DTs in the draft better than Scott, but where I was I felt like there was a lack of value, I also looked at DT in Round 2 but the guys with my round 2 value where taken so I went with another hole, in Safety. I got arguably the best safety in the draft in round 2 so I was happy with that pick. I also really wanted to look at guard, but there was a heck of a run on them this year in the first few rounds, more than will actually get drafted come draft day, IMO

Yeh, I saw that, thanks again.

I noticed everyone was a bit shocked with no QB chosen, but i think the team needs to establish its run and defense before the next step. Much like Atlanta, I think SF will go QB with a nice rookie transition next year.

For those critical of the Stafford pick by Washington, see the following Redskins rumor:

    **************************

The National Football Post's Michael Lombardi believes the Redskins will be looking for a quarterback a year from now.

Jason Campbell hasn't come close to proving that he deserves to be considered a franchise quarterback. The situation could become contentious, with Campbell's contract up after 2009 and GM Vinny Cerrato refusing to discuss an extension. If Campbell plays well, he'll want to leave. If he disappoints, the 'Skins will want to turn the page.

Thanks for the feedback. I think the Redskins probably got the best value in this draft with their two picks.

Matt Stafford at pick # 13 was unreal. Eric Wood in round three was a good value as well.

Apparently, Colt Brennan is their guy.

That's what I've heard as well. He & Zorn seem to have really hit it off. But it remains to be seen whether Brennan is an NFL QB. There were legitimate questions about his size and arm strength in the draft. So I wouldn't be that surprised if Washington did select a QB in 2009 (especially if one were available at good value).

Would it move the draft along faster to have people text each other when they've made their picks instead of sending a PM ? Everybody has a phone and would get pretty much immediate notice that they were on the clock. I think it would substantially speed things up - which would be a big help when the 7 round draft occurs. Also maybe fewer people would miss their picks altogether.

I don't think it would be that great a violation of people's privacy. We'd all have to give WW85 our telephone # but he could give out only the #'s each person would need. So If I had St. Louis I'd only know Kansas City's #. I think we could all live with that.

What does everyone think about that idea ?

    I'd be fine with that.

    Steelers draft is done

    DE Tyson Jackson, LSU
    OG Andy Levitre, Oregon St.
    OT Fenuki Tupou, Oregon

would've liked to have gotten Mack in the first round but Jackson wound up being a very good value there and got my offensive line depth later on.

I was really happy with my draft. Monroe and Britt added some vital components to that offense, and Ty McKenzie is a hard worker with some spark for Spag's D.
