I feel that too. I just dont think the value was there for any offensive position they needed help at. There was one WR i was tinkering with, but I feel Sintim could be bred to replace DB (retires) or Cato (underperforming) and will prove to be worth the value.

Fair point. Again though as we all know, Stafford to the Redskins just won't happen. Wow it'd be great for the Jets if he fell though.

I like the wells pick. What a duo that would be in Philly.

His arm doesn't impress me. His accuracy doesn't impress me. His footwork? His awareness? Those two are great. I just don't like the idea of the Jets taking Sanchez. To me, he's Jay Cutler without the arm. Stafford I would love for the Jets to have, but that ain't happening.

2010 will be a big draft with top flight QB and WR prospects, and the Jets should be stocking picks for that draft and solidifying the other areas of the team this year - If Rex Ryan does not believe in Elam/Lowery, then the Jets MUST pick a Safety or Corner high in the draft (1st or 2nd round). The Jets also need an ILB to pair with Harris. Obviously there's still free agency to go through but there are three big needs on defense right there. As far as the offense goes, there are FAR better prospects for the two areas of need on offense (QB, future WR to replace Coles) in next year's draft.

With the running game that the Jets have and a shutdown defense (that can be achieved through a new member of the secondary or two and a new ILB, whether through draft or free agency), the Jets can afford to hand the QB reigns to Clemens or Ratliff or a free agent, or Ainge, or whoever they damn well feel like so that they don't need to blow a 2009 draft pick on QB. 2010 will have a much better QB and WR class and neither is a need for the Jets so immediate and urgent that it can't wait until next year.

That's why I don't like the Sanchez pick, and pray that the Jets don't go that route.

    Edit -
Now, if Stafford fell? Well, he has Kurt Warner disease. While his release is quick and he's accurate and has a powerful arm, he needs to raise the ball before throwing it, and that will hurt him at the pro level. A QB coach will need to teach him to KEEP THE FUCKING BALL AT SHOULDER HEIGHT. Stafford is intriguing enough that I wouldn't be pissed if he somehow fell to the Jets, though.

McCoy is the only legit prospect next year. The WR depth this year isnt to bad so one can easily be had in the later rounds. And there werent any secondary prospects with good enough value to take at 17. Moore is falling like a brick.

    What about Sam Bradford?

Dan LeFevour out of Central Michigan is a good prospect too.

    I'm not high on McCoy...

I think I also sets us up nicely in the next couple rounds where there is some serious depth in needed positions

I hope Kurt comes on so I can make my pick, I only have one guy left in my list before i need to dig again

Damnit, beat me to it. I think that Bradford is the best prospect next year, and would have been this year had he declared. Sadly, this means the Jets have pretty much no shot at him.

Aaron Curry and OT Eugene Monroe from Virginia are probably the two safest picks in the draft. I think both guys are NFL ready right now and should make an impact early in their rookie seasons.

Colt Brennan is the heir apparent for the Washington QB position. I think he'll eventually take over for Campbell if Jason doesn't start to do better. So I don't see the need for Stafford there (even though he was BPA).

Cool, I'm looking forward to this pick because I was thinking about making it too but I'm less than five picks away so I can't, but I had some ideas in mind so now I'm curious to see who you take

N.E. definitely can use secondary help after Hobbs, the cupboard is thin.

Wolfe tone...................I like the pick!! Matty Ryan could use a nice big target in Pettigrew. The loss of Crumpler last season weakened the TE position.

Solid pick....Good Value. One of the most well-rounded TE's coming into the league in a while.

I was targetting Pettigrew with my next pick for Philly

    Good Pick, Wolfe

I like the pick for NE too, that was one of three players I had in mind

Hmm Im here just deciding on who to pick while I am watching UFC. Decisions, decisions.

Not many might not like the Smith pick but I really like what this dude brings and think he'd be sick next to Bell or taking over for Allen eventually at CB.
