I have to eat crow after the TD on Sunday... but in fairness to myself I don't recall seeing that at any point in his career. :shit:
Yeah, I mean, he's not known for that, but I know I've seen him make plays like that before. They just get swept under the rug though, because they're not glorified and noticed like a TD is. In the past, he's done it for less yards and significance; the point is, he has the ability to do that, has the leg strength, which is a good thing. We should be happy about that.
Terrance Taylor University of Michigan Nose Tackle Height:6-0 Weight:319 Year:Sr. three-year letterman at Michigan two-year starter at nose tackle led Michigan defensive linemen in 2007 with a career-best 55 tackles 2007 All-Big Ten Conference second team high school - state champion in power lifting as sophomore, junior and senior ... bench pressed 500 pounds ... best squat lift is 680 pounds ... best dead lift is 670 pounds / undefeated heavyweight wrestling state champion as a senior *********************** Taylor has a perfect build for a 3-4 NT. He's a guy with great strength who knows how to use leverage. And he's already experienced at NT for a top program. He would be perfect as the backup for Jenkins.

B.J. Raji, on his year away from football in 2007 (academically ineligible): “I learned so much in this last year. One thing I learned was patience. No matter how bad I wanted to get on the field, it wasn’t happening. I learned humility,” Raji said. “No matter what I was, it’s ‘What have you done for me lately?’ I had to take a backseat, which I didn’t have a problem with, but it wasn’t something I was expecting. It was all thrown on me in a week’s time. And I had to learn how to take responsibility for my actions. “And to be honest, it was kind of a blessing in disguise because I got a chance to critique my film a lot. I feel like between my last game and now, I’m a completely different player.” Jagodzinski believes Raji has learned to appreciate football more. “I think one of the things that was beneficial to him was that he realized how fast football can go away and it made him hungrier. And I think he’s going to come back with that extra year of maturity, and that extra year of having Loscalzo in the weight room is going to make him even a better player,” Jagodzinski said. “When you have experiences like that, it’s going to change you one way or another and it changed him for the better.” - Steve Conroy, Boston Herald
Name: Tyson Jackson College: LSU Height: 6-4 Weight: 295 Position: DE Class/Draft Year: rSr/2009 Projected Round: 1-2 Rated number 3 out of 200 DE's 2008 Preseason First-Team All-SEC (SEC Coaches, SEC Media) Goes into the 2008 season as one of the nation’s top defensive ends ... Has great speed from the edge ... tremendous wing span ... Called a “defensive freak” by ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit ... For career, has 86 total tackles, 16.5 tackles for losses and 14 sacks. ***************** Probably the best 3-4 DE prospect in college this year
I think he will fall to the 2nd round where the Jets should draft him immediately - he is a great 3-4 DE prospect.
I like Tyson Jackson, but I think the best 3-4 end prospects are the dude from Duke and Arthur Jones from Syracuse. Theres a few guys I like better than Jackson...not that Marcus Spears is a bad player...but he reminds me of Jackson and I think theres better out there. Theres a really nice list on NFLDC (Scott Wright's site) that I'll dig up.
Antonio Dixon Antonio Dixon - Da U He's been playing very well for Miami this year. Great size at 6'3 325. Compared to Vince Wilfork as a HS recruit. While he never became another Wilfork at Miami, he's still a very large man with athleticism, strength, and improving technique and motor. Personally, I think he'll be a steal for whoever drafts him. He looks like a 3rd round pick or later, but he's got potential to start as a NT in either the 4-3 or 3-4.
His farm seems Eerily similar to D-rob. Not sure If I would take a flyer on him for a NT prospect. That said the Power lifting and wrestling backround would help a great deal with the use of his hands and overall strength. Interesting to say the least. Sigh.... I wish I had more to to watch the NCAA this year.
I'd love to get this guy. Him or Terrance Cody from Bama to help secure the lines long term. Both areas still could use bodies.
Everette Brown IMO, he's got the quickest first step of any pass rusher in this draft. He's more finesse than Hardy/Orakpo, but he's arguably their equal as a pass rusher. I like him better than his old teammate, Kamerion Wimbley, and Wimbley was a pretty decent prospect.
Brown looks nasty today. If you're watching Clemnson vs. FSU today...check out #93 on Clemson, DaQuan Bowers. He's only a freshman, but he's already getting the label as the next great DE prospect in the Williams/Peppers class.
Yea, Sapp is a beast and a half. Some say he outshined Phillip Merling last year. I like Sapp. He'd be perfect in a Tampa 2.
Basically all of the defensive line prospects that Swinney/Bowden brought to Clemson are solid pro prospects. It's a shame Bowden was run out of town because he was a hell of a recruiter. Gaines Adams was a first rounder and Merling should have been...Now Ricky Sapp and DaQuan Bowers should follow in their footsteps. 2009 recruit Malliciah Goodman will probably be Clemson's next stud defensive end.
ILB is an obvious need for the Jets since Barton's contract is up. There are two great ones available this year in Laurinaitis and Maualuga. However both will likely go in the first few picks. Does anyone think either of the top OLB candidates Aaron Curry from Wake Forest (6-3, 247) or Brian Cushing from USC (6-3, 255) could play inside for us ? I haven't seen either guy play.
Florida State's kicker Graham Gano - He's 15/16 this year on FGs and his only miss is from 50+. This kid has a boot -- he's 4/5 from 50 plus and 10/10 from every where else. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=173647
