I say you take the top two teams from each conference, divide the country up into regions, and have a march madness style bracket with a national title game. the bcs bowls would be used as the sights of the playoffs, and the other teams that cant break into the bracket get to go to the lower bowls. It's more like a "Champions League" set up, and probably would extend football til February. :)

Bowden's mess? Mess?!? Yea, he was a shitty coach, but he was one of the best recruiters in the nation. The Tigers a ton of high profile recruits. Their defense is ridiculously talented.

Swinney had no business getting that job - the only reason he was hired is because Clemson had to pay off Bowden's contract. They had no choice but to hire an inexperienced in house guy for cheap.

I guess I see some things that you don't because I live in South Carolina now. CJ Spiller has always received most of the hype - James Davis was the guy that was overshadowed.

Clemson printed out thousands of 'CJ Spiller for Heisman" posters and sold them before the season started. He's never been overlooked - he's seen as a some kind of football savior here. The kid's a one man offense...

How the fuck can Ole Miss lose to a nobody head coach at Auburn? There goes our chance to beat LSU.

We'll be bowl eligible next week. Cotton Bowl looks unlikely..looking more like a music city bowl this year.

Hell, when I got here we won 3 to 4 games a year. Progress I guess.

Rutgers beats UConn on an 81 yard catch and run TD. Tim Brown scored the TD, bittersweet day for him (UConn's first home game since the death of his good friend Jasper Howard)

That was a great play, Brown found a seam in UConn's defense and made it happen. Kudos to Savage he's pretty impressive for a Freshman QB, he has a bright future. There are some really good young players on Rutger's squad.

Too bad for UConn, they could be 8-0....3 tough losses. It seemed to be an emotional day in Hartford. They don't have it easy next week going to Cincy.

Am I the only one who thinks Steve Spurrier is a horrible game day coach?
Recruiter - fine, but when he's actually knee deep in the shit, he just cant seem to pull his team up.
My opinion is probably influenced by the fact that I have $$ on South Carolina & they are already down 14-0.

Fresno comes from behind against a very mediocre Utah State team...31-27

Once again, Ryan Mathews dominated - 185 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.

call on the field was a fumble return for a TD for USC, but this should come back. Runner was down.

Oregon close to salting the game away, up three TDs in the 4th.

    ^ no

don't really think throwing it was the wise move there, but after incompletions on first and 2nd and a false start, Masoli runs 20 yards for a first down and Oregon is about to score again. This one is effectively over.

44 points sets a new record for points allowed by a Pete Carroll-coached USC team

I was at that Utah game... Las Vegas Bowl. Carson Palmer's Junior year. It was on Xmas day and my wife (then girlfriend) gave me the tickets for an Xmas gift. It was year one of the Redemption for Firing Paul Hackett Tour. Utah had a pretty solid RB, I believe it was Ron McBride's last game at Utah and he would eventually be replaced by Urban Myer.

I believe it was that 05 season Fresno should've beat USC. It was a close game as I recall.

As for the losses, I watched every one of those games from 03 on just to cheer against the Trojans.

You're right, it was 2005. Reggie Bush won the Heisman against the Bulldogs. One of the most ridiculous games by a running back that I've ever seen...human highlight reel.

Pete Carroll decided that it would be a bad idea to play the Bulldogs again in 2008. The Dogs replaced USC on their schedule with UCLA. Ryan Mathews destroyed the Bruins.
