So yeah, I just got home and turned on the game to see it's 4-0 in the 1st. And Tim McCarver is speaking spanish. Um, what?
You know who's great at knocking in runs? JORGE POSADA. Hopefully he'll be behind the plate in Burnett's next start now that the Angels have shattered the Jose Molina myth.
Burnett is very fortunate that the double play ground balls were hit to the right spots. Man, the Angels are seeing the ball well tonight. Every is hitting it hard, even the guys in bad slumps.
Just because Molina is catching doesn't mean he'll be good every time. Obviously Burnett and Posada don't get along and Girardi doesn't want to force it. Besides, after seeing Posada in Game 4, maybe he should get a game off. and hey, Molina is getting his share of hits when he plays.
All that BS and Molina swings @ the 1st pitch? You know, we had em on the ropes early...MAKE HIM THROW PITCHES!
Burnett and Posada were working just fine when Burnett almost no hit Tampa or when he shut down Boston in Fenway. He's just a wildly inconsistent pitcher; this isn't a new thing, we knew this when he was signed. His numbers with Molina are the product of a small sample size. How much longer are we going to have him cripple the offense? Leading off the inning by popping up on the first pitch is unacceptable. You're down 4 runs! Take a freaking pitch! Umps blow another call on that Damon out, by the way. Wonder how much longer we'll have to hear about the game being rigged in New York's favor.
