I'd be okay with 2 plus an additional if you get the first two. But what is the penalty if you're wrong? Remember that football has a pretty hefty counterbalance if you're wrong on the challenge, which is how it should be. And if you're giving the potential for 3 challenges per side, per game, you have to take it out of the umpire's hands. As for all the mound visits/throws to first, those are, and always have been, part of the game. Every team does it. Granted, this postseason the Yankees have been a bit overboard, but still, all teams do it.
I wouldn't mind a bit if this takes two games to finish. We don't need 5 days off and I'm glad Philly has 6.
Running out of challenges. If you keep challenging plays and you're wrong, you soon will find yourself unable to challenge borderline plays later. Of course it's part of the game, but it's been taken overboard in the playoffs. Losing your DH is an interesting idea, but it seems a steep penalty just for being wrong on a challenge. What about no stalling at the mound if you lose a challenge? You can't have your manager/pitching coach go out to the mound and have a three minute discussion with a struggling pitcher.
they just said on the pregame that A-Rod didn't swing and miss once in Games 3 and 4 (in Anaheim). I missed the first 15 minutes of the pregame, unfortunately. They started it earlier than usual tonight.
yea i watched all of them and its all on the umps, not the game of baseball and the rules that it is played by, those umps that were there those nights and made those calls they f*d and not any other aspect of baseball. there has been over a hundred years of baseball just fine with umps making the calls and you live with it or die with it, you just needed good umps, these guys obviously suck. when the refs suck in football no one cries for rule changes they call for heads. point is you start changin somethin major like that, next thing ya know youve got the tuck rule, i just dont wanna see that happen, it already sickens me what theyve done to football....
you said if it ain't broke, though. If this isn't broken, what would qualify as broken? I think it's broken when the umpires are blowing this many calls in the postseason.
fire them... and get umps that can make the right call, it isnt an impossibility , its easy to be lazy when you rely on technology, technology that hasnt been around all that long. the game has been executed for yeeaars without that bs, these individuals fail at their dream job and all the sudden they are bigger than the game of baseball? that baseball needs to be changed all the sudden to make up for their incompetance??? i dunno about you but id be fired if i fd up like they did.
yeah he did, but thats waaay too close to take. He didnt think there was any way Lackey was throwing a breaking ball there
Not sure which regularly-run ad is the most annoying. 1)Taco Bell - "Black taco" 2)Ford - Howie Long "big girl" 3)T-Mobile - "If you want to be free, be free" 4)DirecTV - Black eyed peas? Includes an elephant in the desert or something
lol i dunno then blacklist them, just keep them out if they cant perform, im sure if some trucker delivers to the wrong side of the country or if an electricians schotty work sets an office building up in flames time and time again they keep them from doing the same duties that they once performed, give em a mop or something that does infringe upon the lives of others. these umps cant be untouchable, thats the rule change id push for if they are in fact untouchable. if i was unfireable id be lazy as shit at work to, just like these umps
