The Mets need to get rid of players who suck and bring in guys who don't suck.

Where is the power from the lineup coming from? While Murphy has a good approach, he wouldn't have the power needed for a corner infielder to warrent that position move, the move to 2b would make sense defensively and offensively but losing about 20 HRs would hurt us pretty bad.

Pat Burrell, a Met? I don't think it would ever happen, but that's just me.

the Mets have so many holes I can't even begin to wrap my head around how to solve them. another starting pitcher, an entire bullpen, and 3 of the 8 fielding positions. good luck, Omar, I'm sure you'll find plenty f ways to throw more of the Wilpon's money away. if you do your job well, maybe next year we can actually make it to a tie-breaker game to lose at.

Yeah, I agree. Murphy, Beltran, and one of the fuckers on the left side of the infield can stay.

It's pretty clear we need a corner outfielder because I think Church is the player he was in Washington a 15 HR guy who really should be a 7-8 guy. One guy I'd look at and I'm sure some would disagree would be Bobby Abreu. Now the Yankees would be stupid to not resign him but .300 avg 20 HR's 100 Runs and 100 RBIs is something this team could use. Now he is 35 so age is an issue but I think he is still a very productive player. The other guy I'd look at would be Dunn. Nobody gets on Ryan Howards case for striking out too much and his shitty avg. I'll take Dunns 40 HRs but we know Omar has no intrest in him. I'd also bring back Tatis to platoon with Church in left. Boy it would have been nice to have Nelson Cruz at this point. (Another guy traded away for garbage by Phillips I believe)

We still need an every day catcher or at least somebody that can hold the fort down until Perez gets here in 3 years. I have no idea where to find him though.

Delgado should and will be back......

The bullpen is fucked...... we just need all our starters to go complete every outing.

Did you really just say we need Abreu or Dunn?

Just what we need two more washed up older guys that will break down. We need to bring in young players, not old parts that have made this team suck for the past 3 seasons.

28 year old Adam Dunn, who has hit 40 home runs in each of the last 5 seasons and on-based at least .380 in all but one of them, is old and washed up?

    Hm.

You do realize Dunn isn't even 30 right? I said the age thing with Abreu would be an issue but it doesn't change the fact that he hit .300 with 20 HRs 100 RBIs and scored 100 runs. Imagine that guy hitting after Reyes and before Beltran?

Hire Richard Simmons as manager or at least bench coach. His infectious enthusiasm is just what this team needs. He might be able to punch some juice into Wright, too.

    Sign C.C. Sabathia.

Abreu is old, not that good and will want alot of money. Not exactly the kind of guy the Mets should be targeting. He's got 12 home runs the past 2 years and has slugged .394 and .418 away from the lefty friendly RF in Yankee Stadium.

The more I think of it the more I think we should go after Milton Bradley, he isn't too old, he can hit, he gets on base, he has some speed. And I am iffy on signing a 36 year old Lowe, I'd rather sign Burnett.
