... your bro has looked excellent so far surviveone and given opponents very little room to try and force a throw in ... ... it is going to be unfair to him if the revis deal gets worked out and he is then moved from #2cb covering outside wr to #3 cb covering the slot wr ... ... this is my biggest problem i have with revis over his preseason holdout ... ... he has impacted wilson's practice reps as the db coving the slot guy inside ... if welker has his way with wilson week 2 (or a similar result early in the season) ... i put the responsibility for this squarely on revis's shoulders ... ... week 3 against the redskins is the true test for starters in the preseason & mcnabb is a savvy vet, despite playing on a new team without an elite wr group ... ... after the next game we should have a better gauge to verify that the excellent performance kyle has shown is legit or if he still has some rookie kinks to work out ... ... thanks for continuing to post on jets fan websites! ... l_j_r
Maybe Kyle's lost a little work in the nickel because of all this, but I don't see how his work with the ones for three-plus weeks now should be viewed as a negative. If Revis comes back soon then we've got him, Cro on a mission, and Kyle with a rookie learning curve that got thrown into overdrive. That leaves us in better shape than before if you ask me.
Frankly, Wilson shouldn't be on Welker. I think the best way to cover the Pats this season is Revis on Welker, Cro on Moss (with safety help) and Wilson dominating Edelman or knocking brady unconscious whichever the play calls for. If Revis does not return in time, I would prefer cro on Welker, and Wilson on Moss with Leonhard over top the whole game.
I second the notion of having Revis on Welker. Cro could handle Moss one on one any day of the week IMO
If Welker is moving like his old self I don't think Cro has the quickness to stay with him. With no Revis I would rather have Cro 1 on 1 with Moss, and Wilson + 1 on Welker.
I love the fact that he has no problem communicating out there. He looks like he isn't intimidated at all and that is something I like to see. He has looked good so far and I think he is more physical than people orginally thought.
Week 1 and beyond. We can't play the Pats with this guy starting at CB and Lowery in the nickel.. Brady will eat us up
... interesting take ... ... with revis back i would still probably prefer him on moss, cro on edelman on the other sideline, and then k-dub on welker, maybe with initial lb help for the 1st couple seconds - before said lb trying to shoot whatever gap we're attacking on that play ... i'm not totally against your idea though ... ... with no revis i think k-dub matches up better with welker's quickness and shiftiness than cro does, so i would again put him on welker (possibly with that initial lb help) ... cro on moss with safety help the majority of the time ... and unfortunately lowery on edelman with occassional safety help ... (like the creative thinking though) l_j_r
true, wilson is quicker, but Cro is longer, and clearly has greater recovery speed. Besides in Wilsons second career game, would you really want him covering the shiftiest guy in the NFL, you know the guy who had like 16 receptions for 190 yards in the one game he played against us last year? Personally I would rather he cover the aging superstar, you know the guy with the nickname slouch....
