2-2 -- 2-0 in the afc east they go 2-2 in the next 4 -- they are 4-4 where we all expected them to be. 3-1 Afc east and 4-3 in the conference. To be fair isn't that what most of us hoped for after 8 games?
There is math and what you saw with your eyes. Nothing I saw showed me we have any hope for the playoffs this season.
Can we keep revis please. Everyone complains about how our draft picks suck but yet we draft a hall of famer and people want to trade him. The problem is not the money wrapped up in revis. It's the money wrapped up in Scott, pace, Holmes, cromartie, Sanchez.
Did you see how much that having a bad corner like Wilson on the field for the Jets yesterday cost them? It was like carnage out there with all the long gains the QB overthrew and the penalty he took to prevent a breakaway. The difference between Darrelle Revis and Kyle Wilson was negligible yesterday.
just like w/ Schottenheikmer I worry less about playcalling and more about execution. We aren't executing. Tony gets his share of the blame, there is plenty to go around but I wouldn't blame any particular person.
Um, yes. We've taken shots down field, something we never did last year. The play calling was fine thru 3 weeks. Yesterday I can't assess because I'd have to look at the film, clearly execution was a problem vs SF tho. The only gripe so far I have with Sparano is constant running between the tackles when it ain't working..... We need to pull and trap on the OL more. Pitches an sweeps, then again, we don't have anyone to run around the edge. Personnel problem.
It also didn't help that when they did get SF off the field they punted inside the 5 yard line. Makes calling anything very difficult. Really had a hard time flipping field position all game.
After Houston we have a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way. Strangely enough if we can get our shit together even a little we are still playoff contenders. I am not saying we deserve to be there but our schedule is fairly easy. The New England games will determine our playoff hopes (assuming we can win the easy games we should win).
4 games in no team is running away with anything. Take away your 3 division leaders and only Cinci is above 500 at 3-1. After that 4 teams are 2-2 - Jets, NE, Buff, and Denver Everyone else is 1-2 (bye week teams), 1-3, or 0-4.
Your avatar is how I feel as a Jets fan. I've never considered intentionally missing a game but next Monday's game may be the first. Who am I kidding. I'll be watching. And 20 minutes in I'll probably look just like your avatar does again. Fuck the Jets indeed. Hopefully it's worth sticking around before we die.
Yep - we have an easy schedule and are 2-0 in th division. If we can beat NE even once we are in a good spot.
I disagree, If at the mid way mark we are not showing any signs of being a competetive team, we have players that potential contenders may need. I agree we would take a substantial hit this year with a fire sale, but we could definately pass along salaries for future years. My biggest point is if Sanchez does not show any signs of progression in the next 4 weeks, he is not the answer. (I don't think, and haven't thought he was the answer, but I digress) I would package Darrelle Revis and Sanchez to a team and pass along their salaries next year, and future. Truthfully, I would make an offer to Washington for Kirk Cousins, and a 2nd today.
I agree and the only way to move Sanchez's salary is to package him with our only valuable trade piece.
I am not arguing any of that. I am not giving up on the season, but I am making a realistic prediction of where we may be. I am looking at a solution to a very realistic issue.
If they make changes they can improve. The question is are the capable of making the changes? Its starts with Rex.
