Not the sexy pick, his intensity reminds my of Brian Thomas and Ghost.

    Don't like it at all!

Remember, Rex saw both of them. He does know defense.

Huge difference though. Gholston was set on the #6 contract. No way Coples is sitting on #16 money with the new cap. He's going to be fully motivated to play.

I like the pick. The Jets got huge value for a 16 pick.

Isn't he a passrusher? How is that not a need?

Anyway I hope he plays well for us.

Of course, if we had taken Ingram....people would have been complaining just as much.

I hope you're right. Like I said: I think it's a good pick in general, just not sure Ingram wouldn't have been better.

I am most happy with a DT instead of a LB or LOG. Bigger need (IMHO).

The difference between Vernon and Coples is that Rex hated Vernon his draft year, and Rex loves Coples.

I don't get this pick they needed an OLB type like Ingram.
Too small to be a DT and you can't play him as an LB.
He is a DE for a 4-3 defense.
As for DEs for a 3-4 defense the Jets don't have a need there.

Why didn't the Jets draft for need?
Their RT situation is a joke as is their #2 WR situation.
    Their OLBs are ancient.

    Makes no sense.

Plus this guy fell for a reason HE HAS MORE RED FLAGS then Gholston.

Not another Blair Thomas bust....see I didn't metion Vernon. I still trust Tanny over the experts and the fans, hopefully he's gonna be a Pierre Paul. Enough negativity, keep it real, time will tell

staying put w/ so many options were available, pick is gonna be second guessed if any of the other pass rushers that were there become household name , hope the FO loved him so much where trading down or Reiff weren't viable options in their minds

Any chance they have him stand up and be our olb? Ive read a couple articles months ago discussing that possibility of a 3-4 team doing so

Calling him gholston 2.0 is dumb. Gholston wasn''t bad because of attitude and effort. Gholston was bad because he had no actual talent. Big difference there. Gholston was a good teammate and worked his ass off. He just wasn't, ya know...good.

I'm starting to get an Alshon Jefferey feeling for Round 2.

I was hoping that Floyd would fall to us, but no complaints about adding a pass rusher. Will be interesting to see how Rex fits him into a 3-4.

What the pundits are neglecting to address is that Coples played for three different coaches at UNC. Compared toIngram, Coples is an amazing pick. Ingram may be one of the three biggest busts in this draft. Rex and others saw how he can't dieengage an OT. With Barron gone, I love this pick.

Then why did everyone want to go after Mario Williams?
