I'm trying to feel out some friends to see if they'd like to go to some games in 2009. I'd actually like to buy the seats and sell to friends if they'd be interested in going to some games, especially since it appears I can get much BETTER seats than the ones I have through my friend (which is quite simply mind boggling....this economy must be REALLY bad....).
Yes, it's http://www.newyorkjets.com/stadium/view_construction_cam The Interior Panarama views are the most helpul. Click around until you get the views you want, then zoom in. Generally, the initial views I'm getting are the "Visitor's Side," which is fine with me, since that's where I want to be... in the SW corner, so I can get out of my seat and get to my vehicle to head East on Rte 3 and then South on the TNPK.
BTW... received email confirmation tonight at 5:10PM that I will be contacted tomorrow, June 16th. I think I'm ready... I hope so anyway. I know where I'd like to be, let's put it that way. I'm at their mercy and wish things were different, but they're not... My credit card is standing by...
Good luck! Hope you get what you want, and let us know how it goes. Meanwhile, I'm now obsessing over 2009 options
Just so you know, I have had seats on the Jets side (North) since 1984 and have parked on the South side all these years. With the fences around the stadium, I have had to walk inside the stadium about 40% of the way around to get from my seat to the gate nearest my car. It has never been a problem. If you are like me (and I hope you are) and do not leave games early, it is far more important to park in a section that is close to a major artery than it is to sit near your car. It takes me about 10 minutes to walk to my car and 5 minutes or less to be on Route 3 West. Don't worry about sitting near your anticipated parking lot. Take the best seats you can get.
Tomorrow 227 - some additional advice that may not help but I will offer. There are 26 rows in the upper deck but not every section has the same number of rows for two reasons. 1) some sections have handicapped areas and some do not, 2) obviously some sections have the lower upper prime seats (that none of us had the right to get apparently). Thus, all rows end at row 26 but begin with different numbers. The sideline uppers that have upper prime seats begin at row 1. In the end zone areas, a couple of sections begin with row 5, since they have no "prime" area while others start with row 8 if they have open handicap areas as most do in front of them. Row 8 is really row 1 in these sections. Also, one of the reasons I took 301 is because it is thinner than others (326 is too) and that means less seats across per row. If you can't get aisle (if that matters - I am aisle now and hate standing up for anyone who leaves) this is nice since there are less seats to get past, or to have people come past you when they get up. I also liked that 301 starts with row 5. I got row 8, but it's really only the 4th row up from the tunnel opening. This may be moot at this point, but I thought I'd mention it. I really studied the cam views. Also - take into consideration the sun factor. I took the sun side North west, but am not sure if that was the best call. Others have opined on both sides of that argument. The wife liked the sunny side idea, so that's why i went with 301 vs. 326. until a game is played, we really don't how the new stadium will "play". Being on the west side, I expect most of the parking to be available on that side as it is now, especially the non psl parking. I am not too concerned with the things you mentioned with the parking because so many access roads are changing that we really don't know how it'll be, flow-wise. it should be much better from a traffic flow perspective though than it is now. Back to the seat rows. Someone the other day posted that he got the last section of Upper Primes in the corner, in row 5. Although that should be pretty good seats, he will be paying $125 per game while folks just a row or two behind him and a few seats over from him will be paying $105 or even $95. He's right at the border of the three price points. Another reason for me taking 301 was the thought that if I was going "cheap" yeah right - by not spending 5K x's 6 to stay where I've been, then if I was heading upstairs I'd go as cheap as allowed if the uppers were going to have three prices. I wanted nice Primes, but since they quickly had none, I will be glad to save $30 x's 6 seats x's 10 games ($1800.00) - at least for the "try-out" 2010 season. Good luck tomorrow. I've appreciated your posts on the topic regarding not going PSL and mortgaging the future.
26 rows in the uppers at the new stadium? we are screwed. here, now where ever you are. jetstantic music is playing in my head. that actually means there are less upper deck seats in the new stadium? wow this just dawned on me. holy hell we are so screwed. any reason only 26 rows? thanks guys
Yes it is. Some rows have less seats then others. Looking at the interior for my seats Sec 319, for row 10 & 11 there are only 11 seats accross vs. 16 & 20 at other places. In my section, there is row 1-4, then 5-6 are for the handicapped and then the first row of seats after the handciapped is 7. Look at the southend zone, the first section over from the left corner section that's real small, almost like 2 sections split and count the seats in 9-12. 11 seats The aisle is to my left and the field to my right so people don't bock my view when I am watching the game http://www.newyorkjets.com/stadium/view_construction_cam
I hate to bring this up... But you could by the top of the line HDTV and have it mounted in your living room... Drink High end scotch, and have every game catered..Get better vision, booze, and food, and NO drive time.. The NFL makes it's money on being a made for TV sport..why not use that to your advantage? "Dear Mr.Johnson... The NFL makes it's money on being a made for TV sport so I decided to buy a high end samsung tv, and spend my ticket money on catering...saving 50++ bucks a week in gas, tolls, and parking...Let CBS buy my seats to sell ad time...Good luck asking them to buy a PSL.... thanks.. Happy at home..."
In response to a request on another thread, I'm posting what I was offered today by the Jets. First, I am a 25-year ticket holder and that I currently sit in the lower end zone in Giants Stadium. I made the decision months ago that I could not go along with the PSL plans. When I sent my seat choices in, I only requested the non-PSL upper deck. I should just forget the whole thing, but after 25 years it's like drinking. I'm so glad that I have seniority so I can go from the lower level to the upper! Here is what I was told: All Upper Prime tickets are sold-out. That's Sec. 313, 314, 338, 339 and the first 5 to 7 rows of all upper deck sections. My next choice was Upper Sideline. Simply put, the closer you are to the 50 yard line, the higher the available row. My preference is 2 on the aisle and a low row facing the Jets Bench. That meant that I had to move out towards the end zone. I'll be in the 10th row of Sec. 333. That's 3 or 4 rows behind Upper Prime. If you want to get a rough idea of what Upper Sideline seats are available right now on June 15th, look at the seating chart of the new stadium. On the bottom Visitors' Bench side of the Upper Deck, draw a line across the Upper Sideline sections from the bottom last row of Sec. 338 to the front of the orange of Sec. 332. Do the same from the bottom last row of Sec. 339 to the front of the orange in Sec. 345. Now do the same for the Upper Sideline sections at the top on the Jets Bench side from Sec. 313 to Sec. 307 and from Sec. 314 to Sec. 320. Most seats on the field side of the line are mostly gone. However you will have a better shot at a section closer to the 50 within that line if you are willing to go up higher and/or in the middle of a row. They are not totally sold out and your preferences might not be the same as mine. If you want a low row in the Upper Sideline seats, you'll likely have to pick closer to the end zone as I did. Also, a deposit of $500 per seat is required NOW, meaning that you have to use a credit card before the end of the call or get a check to the Jets within 5 business days or your seat choice is cancelled. They sent me a receipt almost immediately via email. The balace will be invoiced in 2010. I hate what the Jets have done. I'm going to give it a try. If you can afford a PSL, God bless you. For me, F the PSL's. But there is and upside. Now I can spill beer, throw confetti and shoot paper planes from the Upper Deck on the wussies downstairs!!!
