My seats were probably in the $30-40 range at that time... just estimating by memory, but we're talking Mezz. It's hard to say because I don't remember noticable increases until the 10%-per-year increases when Woody took over.

And I do remember the replacement games. But I have to admit that I cannot remember definitively and for sure if I was reimbursed or credited for those games. My memory tells me no (and that has sometimes been untrustworthy), but I will say that my instincts and best recollections are that I never received a refund or credit for those games and that I paid up front for the entire season come hell or high water and that was that, replacements or not.

Of course, that has nothing to do with today's ticketing rules.

My understanding is that because this is a lockout, and not a player strike, there is no possibility of replacement players. But who the hell knows ...

I hope there is no season and they stay on strike the whole year. The owners and players are greedy and I hope they lose fans like baseball did. You would be suprised how fast people forget. Besides, after being in 2 consecutive championship games, we are gonna suck this year so I would rathter save my time and money.

No way. Look what happened to the Giants after the last strike.

We need a season. We need a Superbowl. This is our time.

    Believe.

The Giants missed the playoffs after the last work stoppage. They won in '86 then missed the playoffs in '87- the strike was in '87.

I thought all the seats were the same price back then, I remember that until probably the late 90s when they started really going up.

This could very well be, but I really never had access to what the other sections charged before the internet arrived. Never really compared. Never had any reason to price any other seats and never wanted to move. I only knew what they billed me every spring, so I just paid it.

I do know that I remember VERY slight increases up to about the $60-$62 mark, at which point they started increasing at an alarming rate of 10% per year. This same period of time coincided with the arrival of the new owner, Woody Johnson.

Of course, this is all off the charts now. The new stadium was built in order to remove all pre-existing ticket pricing. A new building now justifies inserting red-hot pokers up unsuspecting rectums. And the surprising thing is, all these fucking yuppies are welcoming it!

LOL!!! Love the optimism, I've got the same bad feeling. Figure Sanchez will blow out his achilles in the first game and we'll be looking at Brunnel for the rest of the year  Or maybe Revis will go down in pre-game warmups ala O'Donnell. Oh, the joy of being a Jets fan.

I still haven't paid for my tickets; was going to do it tomorrow but what the hell might as well wait until next Thursday...

Baamf, not sure if you are kidding or not, but what you said is how I feel. After the Denver loss in 1996, it was next year will win.. and boom, Vinnie goes down and it took 13 years to get another shot. Now we got 2 and blew both, especially this year. Fatso & Taco man will find out what being a Jet is this year. I hope to hell I am wrong but... I can't help feeling this way

I started going to every game in 1990 but I didn't yet have season tickets so we bought season tickets from various people(my parents did as I was a teenager at the time) so I had the chance to sit in many different sections, I belive the pricing throughout the Stadium as the same back then. I think at some point in the mid-late 90s the mezz was $10 more than the other sections.

For me it was $22.50 a game w/ no preseason in 1990, I think in 1997 it was up to just $30/game still w/ no preseason. In 1998 they finally began to require us to pay for preseason and raised my seats to $40/game and that is whent he explosion began- then when Woody took over it kept going up and up and will continue to go up and up.

I also never took the xhibition game option which disappeared when BP was hired

You had a ticket stub from 95 in your jacket?

    That's hardcore.
