It concluded: ?There is no leasing plan making material on-site progress. The physical activities of construction are at a standstill, if not abandonment. The construction loan is out of balance. There are no monies readily available to finish construction of public areas or tenant improvements. Most, if not all, of announced major tenants have an ?escape clause? solely dependent on leasing ? or lack thereof.?
A high school friend of mine died making that damn thing, some huge piece of steel landed on his head and crushed him. Sure is a great way to get to the bottom of things but falling all the way down the corporate ladder at the same time is no good.
Holy Christ. This is just beautiful. All that stadium parking space being taken up now with a useless eyesore. The place to be is on the visitor's side, baby. General Admission PArking never looked so good. Fuck You, Woody Johnson.
HA HA!! Beautiful, isn't it?? Tony Soprano gets a cut to put it up, and he gets a cut to take it back down! NJ at its finest!!
Redskins Here is a good story I heard yesterday, talking to a business associate in DC, said her husband signed up for Redskins waiting list many years ago and was told it was a 20+ year wait, well anyhow they called him sooner than that as they did PSLs, he was getting married so he passed, the PSLs floped and now they are once again selling tickets. They get calls ever few weeks for season tickets now and find it pathetic, they keep saying no. They sell individual games now and they only go now when weather is ok, it is a good game AND they have no family commitments. The Skins wrecked it for there long time fans. Even interesting enough those who had season tickets pre-PSLs did not re-up when they canceled the PSL and they could once again buy season tickets. Rex Ryan is my man, but man oh man he better bring home the bacon the next few years or the Jets could end up like the redskins.
That's a pretty sad story, ROJF. Leave it to the Deadskins to screw up their fan base. I find it interesting that even when offered their old season ticket package back again, the former STHers still passed. No doubt the losing season had a lot to do with that, but also I think that once you piss off your base as bad as these teams are pissing them off with these overpriced PSLs and the moves to undesirable seats where they once had good ones, it leaves such a bad taste in the mouths of the fan base that they almost become like the Tea Party people and they're saying, "Hell No, I'm not going to take this anymore!" Now they can't even get them back if they offer them the same thing they had before. Unbelievable.
My seats this year are $15 less than they were last year. With 4 seats, that saves $60 per game or $600 per season for me. I look at it like I'm getting the Preseason tickets thrown in now, which is really the way it ought to be anyway. But I wasn't bluffing... I was prepared to walk if I didn't get my PSL-free Uppers this year. A lot of people did, unfortunately, and the Jets lost a lot of really dedicated, hardcore, game attendees in the process. Lord only knows what it would take to get them back now. With only the more expensive and less desirable higher row PSL seats in each section available now, the sell will be even harder than it has been. It's really going to get interesting as we get into the summer with all this. Woody has some difficult choices to make if these people don't get off their ass and start selling these things.
What's wacky is that Rex could not be more opposite than the British guy trying to sell PSLs. On one hand, Rex is yepping smash mouth football. On the other hand, the british guy sounds like he's selling fine china. What the heck are the Jets marketing guys thinking? Talk about confusing the buying public.
I heard the SlapChop salesman is available: "Our new 40-year PSL payment plan will only cost you $39.99 a month! Call now and we'll double the number of free 'Win And We're In' towels. Mention this TV ad and receive a FREE autographed picture of Woody Johnson! HERE'S HOW TO ORDER!"
rojf i think that daniel snyder has created alot of that just by being a douchebag. woody is a scumbag but snyder is in a completely different stratosphere. he just makes peoples skin burn.
Wouldn't surprise me if that's coming to Florham Park too, after we get done training in Whatever-The Fuck-It-Is New York.
We did have bleachers at Hofstra. I forgot about that. Not any more. I liked Hofstra. A bit of a drive for me from central Jersey, but I could stand in the shade by the fence and watch, or go sit in the bleachers in the morning with an umbrella over my head until the sun got so hot you had to move. Even those meager days appear gone for now. Now you've got to drive up to Who-The-Fuck-Knows-Where, New York, or wait until the first Preseason Game and pay full price. Still, seeing the team at the stadium is not seeing the team at practice. And it certainly doesn't replace getting autographs outside the Netherlands at Hofstra. I mean, WTF, is there no respect and consideration at all for the local New York Jets fan anymore, or is this all about money and nothing else? I've lost total respect for the NY Jets FO. If you want us to pay for outlandishly priced PSLs, the least you can do is bring the heart of the team back in touch with the average Joe Ticketholder.
