I think we were giving the option of getting the jack hammer. I point blank asked to sit there and was refused
THIS REALLY SUCKS----------arer they upfront about anything???? please someone from the papers media, someone run with this shit!!!
some guys over at the JI Forums are saying they got emails about purchasing tickets to the Bon Jovi concert at the new stadium before they go on sale to the general public. 1. Both psl owners and non-psl sth's are saying they received this email. I thought owning the psl would possibly give you access to buy tickets to other events at the stadium, but apparently it's not true since they're offering it to Everyone. 2. I didn't get an email. I did purchase a PSL. Did anyone else get the email?
I got an e-mail--it said I could get tickets ,, I believe 2 days before they go on sale but I did not read the whole thing and deleted it I can go look for it in a few minutes
i got 2 emails 1 from the jets yesterday and one on thursday from ticketmaster b/c i always buy presale
No code. Tomorrow if you have an Amex card you can buy and later in the week if you download the CD you can buy
They showed the new stadium tonite, all lit up next to Giants Stadium. Man, those freaking upper seats sure look pretty high up there. The announcers were saying how terrific the new stadium looks, "and it's twice as big!" they said. Well, BFD. Twice as big and barely holds 5% more people. I'm beginning to hate this place with every passing day. The sightlines are shit compared to the old stadium. The place sucks. Nothing more than a money-vacuuming whorehouse.
I hope they give either the Giants or Jets, by a coin toss, the opening Thursday game next season and the other team the first Monday night game. They really should acknowledge that though the Giants and Jets built the stadium it is being financed through the fans.
Jets Suck, they are invoicing all the PSLs they sold as quickly as they can as sales have ground to a halt now. As soon as they are done and if the Jets Beat Dolphins they will start invoicing for play-off tickets. Bottom Line Giants 27,000 in Upper Deck PSLs with a 1K price tag sold out in one day. Jets have blown through entire season ticket holder list and now are calling wait list people and people who gave up their seats in 2009 and they still have not sold out their 27K UD seats even without a PSL and the fact it is a refundable $500 deposit where you can change your mind. Giants Underpriced 2010 seats, Jets Overpriced 2010 seats. If a Jet fan was offered a PSL at same price for same seat from Giants and Jets he would be better off buying the PSL from Giants selling tickets at a big mark-up and use profits to buy Jets tickets off Stubhub, he could go to Jets games next 30 years for free. Giants and Jets selling PSLs at same price for same seats is like BMW and Chevy selling cars for the same price.
They're invoicing now because that's what the contract says. Every November the payment is due until it's paid off. For those you purchased later the the contract states that May is the PSL due date, and then maybe November from there after. Not sure about the later guys they'd have to chime in.
I wouldn't mind if that were the case, but it's not. The stadium is being paid for by the fans, not financed by them. The fans don't have one drop of equity in the place to show for it. They don't even have a statement or certificate showing how much they lent the borrower, what their rate of interest return will be or when they could expect to get their principle back. Think about it. The STHers aren't financing anything. Every PSL that's collected goes toward construction, but the STHer that "contributed" that percentage of construction cost has no percentage of ownership in the building. If the fans were financing the construction and holding a share of interest in the building and would eventually receive a "return" on their "investment" through whatever revenues the stadium generates, that would be another story. I'd have signed on with that in a heartbeat. But no. The STHers are paying for the stadium without sharing in any of the returns and without even holding collateral in the bricks and mortar, like the Green Bay fans at least have... a percentage of interest in the building. Oh yes, it'll be argued, "Well, they can sell their PSL to someone else and at least recoup their money or even make money!" Oh really? The PSLs are a depreciating "asset" with every passing year, not to mention being subject to the winds of every losing season. Worse, they're a financial anchor during those times. No one in their right mind is going to pay $400-$500 per seat to sit in the rain and watch a 4-9 team. So the STHer eats the annual expense of the exhorbitant seat prices while waiting for his theoretical "return." No, the Season Ticketholders are not financing the new stadium, they're paying for it lock, stock and barrel and getting nothing substantial or concrete in return to hold as collateral. This is an ingenuius plan, a Ponzi Scheme much better than Bernie Maddoff's operation, but perfectly legal and twice as ridiculous. I'm opening up a new pizzeria in Brooklyn. Please mail in $5,000 for the right to purchase pizza pies from me and "finance" the cost of my new bullding. I also have a deluxe plan if you want the rights to buy calzones, subs and appetizers like fried calamari. That's our "Premium Club Membership" and it's only an additional $2,000. One of our sales rep will soon call, but based only on your "seniority," the length of time you've been buying pizzas from us. So please be patient. And Thank You to all our customers who have supported us all these years. Without you, none of this would be possible! We value all our wonderful customers and look forward to seeing each and every one of you in the our pizzeria, scheduled to open in 2010!
so over on Jetsinsider they are so pro PSL they all bought one. For Fun the Last few days I have bashed PSLs like no ones business. There is some guy over there name SAR who must work for Jets, keeps saying stuff like PSLs are GOLD. I think I put some bees in his bonnet. Ha Ha. I am glad you guys mostly hate PSLs.
I guess since I am not a long term season ticket holder I am not suffering from Stockholm syndrome so I did not buy a PSL Long term Jets season ticket holders suffer from the psychological phenomenon called Stockholm syndrome in which hostages begin to identify with and grow sympathetic to their captors.
i appreciate the fact that someone gets it. and you sir absolutely understand the fucking that is taking place here. its a shame that so many dont realize the reality of this situation and are not only taking it but promoting it as if it were a good thing.
you know what i did yesterday. took my 2 year old to go see a pop warner game... watched 1 and a half games. then went to a high school game that had been rained out on saturday... bought a hot dog and some fries and a soda... then came home and watched the jets on over the air free tv. i watched 3 and a half football games, the best game i watched was the high school game and i spent a grand total of 12 bucks. including gas.
You foolishly squandered that $12. You could have had a 16-ounce bottle of Poland Spring in the new stadium for that price!
no offense, but who cares.. just because u dont want/have seats in new stadium, doesnt mean people in here care about going to pop warner football games. Some of us are excited about next season. Go rain on someone elses' parade. Are you trying to persuade people into not buying seats? It comes off as being bitter IMO. Also, people who bought seats for next year have been watching pop warner football for years, we call them the Jets. We still love going.
