But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks." Quran (66:9) - "O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, a hapless journey's end." The root word of "Jihad" is used again here. Not so sure.
Cmon.. No one but crazies adhere to the literal writings of either the Quran or the Bible. Can you imagine this 21st century world ruled by old testament Christian rules? Coexistence can happen and it has happened in the past. Don't buy into the rhetoric of hate and war Soxxx. God (Allah, Yahweh, etc) gave all humans the ability to think for themselves. Use it wisely and for good.
You can't judge a religion (or anything else for that matter) based on the craziest, cruelest people who follow it. If you do that you give the crazies all the power.

Btw, earlier reports of one dead and two arrested were false. The one reported dead has turned himself in. The two reported arrested are still on the run.
I also read that apparently the suspects were identified because one of them left his passport in the getaway car... makes absolutely no sense to me.

Hi Grandpa. Don't know if Islam is at crossroads because as far as I see not a lot of tear is beeing shed in Islamic world at the moment and no controversy in definition of Islam. The only thing going on in Islamic world right now is Sunni and Shia conflict and I expect Middle East to be blood bath in less than 10 years. Islam didn't experience its Renaissance yet. It means May God's mercy and generosity be upon you.
