"unpredictability" on offense... Wasn't that what we were supposed to have with "2 Quarterbacks" and the "wildcat" this year?? Didn't work out so well...
as comical as some of those talk about our new offense sounds, I'm not sure what else we could want Rex to say in this situation. he's not the most eloquent HC but understanding the need to change offensive philosophy is a start.
The Steelers and Packers disagree with you. The Steelers have never let the GM hire and fire the coach, which is one of the reasons they have had so few coaches. When Ted Thompson took over in 2005 not only did he have to keep the last coach for a year but that coach had also been GM.
it sounds to me like the first 4 years were just a trial, and today is day one, just like Ryan has been saying. I feel cheated
This press conference proves one thing...The new GM will NOT have full autonomy on all personnel decisions. Rex will still have a say. No wonder Gamble and Caldwell are taking their sweet time accepting this job. This presser has cleared nothing up.
The only way I can see to fix this offense is to somehow get a cheap but promising young QB in here... like Cousins, even if it cost us the farm.
The Jets went away from Ground and Pound at the beginning of 2011. They just didn't have the personnel to make a high-flying offense work well.
except, based on what we've seen, Ryan sucks at picking coaches, since he fired most of them this week
