It's not a bad move in that there's basically no risk, but I wouldn't expect anything from Cordero. His velocity is down and his fastball had absolutely zero movement--he really looked done as a major league pitcher.

It's essentially a non move, how many passed their prime injured pitchers do the Mets plan on signing? Cordero will likely never see the Majors again. He's done.

I saw that Jason Bay's quote after last night's 0-6 4 strikeout performance "I'm just lost" Is that the understatement of the century?

I guess I'm alone. I've always liked Cordero though, so oh well!

Putz apparently wasn't past his prime - he has a 1.50 ERA and 0.778 WHIP this year. It's just typical Mets luck that he sucks and gets hurt for them and goes back to 2007 form after they get rid of him.

Seriously why are we only looking at pitching ?

Adam Dunn is available , his HR rate in this line up would elevate him to Arod status.

Jason Bay is the Neil O'Donnell of the Mets! Shame he can't rupture his achilles!

The mets waited too long to make a move.

It doesn't matter at this point...they are done.

Dunn would be a bandaid on a broken leg. There's also 0 chance he resigns with the Mets.
