You're basing this on an unsubstantiated rumor. Just maybe Ryan isn't blowing smoke and likes his QBs and just maybe 1050 is blowing smoke up everybody's ass to get listeners and stir the pot with rumors that do not require any documentation for good reliable sources. It's that time of the year.
That is about as good an analysis as there is about this rumor. Remember how accurate all those rumors were about the Jets trading up into the 1st round to get Keller last year! Those rumors never happened - in fact, it may have been the only scenario not talked about before the draft. These rumors have a life of their own that require little if any semblance of truth.
everyone thinks that they are moving up or tryingt o move up for Sanchez...this culd be the best smokescreen...they probably want to move up, but maybe they want one of the WRs...Crabtree wont last until 8, but Maclin very well could...
as for Warrior...the Keller move was a draft day thing...he was falling so the Jets decided to go for it...no one really would have predicted that
My point was that the Jets were even interested in him - no one even predicted an interest in the guy. I don't believe Keller was falling - I believe he was slotted to go late 1st round. Given the Jets high 2nd round pick it was a very plausible scenario.
This is actually the most grueling week...so many rumors. I assume the 1050 guys just picked this up from Sal Pals report last night. Surely this doesn't need to be said, but surely the jets learned their lesson about trading up a few days before the draft after the D-Rob fiasco. You guys remember the rumors about Bradway panicking the day of the draft and wanting to move from #4 to #3....what a maroon.
exactly...level heads will prevail. The Jets need to sit tight, be patient @ 17...let Moreno fall to them....and serenity will be cast across the land.
I'll believe it when I hear Schefter reporting it. I have a hard time believing this would be for Sanchez. Maybe Macklin? If we did this for Sanchez, though, anybody think we'd try and trade Clemens for a 4th or 5th?
Raji is the only guy that makes sense. Still don't want to do it though. 3 out of 6 picks for one dude is just too much.
I hope not. I'd be content with Percy if he was there, instead of moving up giving up couple of high draft picks in the process. WRs can be found in the 3rd, 4th rounds as well and can contribute at a good level. A mid 2nd round WR can be almost as good as a first round WR in general, and if you have a good scouting team, you can get good value in the 3rd or even the 4th. I'd take a DE at the 17th spot. I think the one IgnatiusJReilly has in his avatar seems good. Don't watch college football so won't say who to draft.
In order to do that you would have to get another team to agree to the deal. You could probably get someone to offer two paper clips, a piece of chewed gum, and some belly button lint, but that's about the extent of his market value at this point.
Good point. Not sure if we'd do that since Sanchez would be a rookie and Ratliff has no real NFL game experience. Clemens would be our safety net as he can do an ok job. Thats all we really need out of our QB and makes me not wanna take Sanchez. I have my doubts about us trading up and grabing Sanchez. Now if was there after the 12th pick, I wouldnt have a big issue about it. Then again teams between 13-16 may not even go for a QB.
Haha, dont we do this every year? We throw out a smoke screen. This could be us testing some one else, say maybe the Cardinals with Bolden? Or some thing completly different.
