Langford has proven he can take a workload in college, so in-case Ivory goes down you have Langford and Powell running the football. He's a reliable back. Not another Powell IMO. Plus, Ivory is in a contract year. The explosive backs in Duke Johnson, Ameer Abdullah, David Johnson will already be off the clock. I think Langford slides a little bit.
When I said he had some size, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean that he was 6'4" or taller. I meant that he was taller than 6'. I agree with you about his being similar to Kellen Clemens. That's why I have no interest in him.
Not for nothing, but I don't get how the fastest RB at the combine can be likened to Powell. I think Langford has very good potential. He's in my top 3 backs, which I'm sure is not a popular notion.
Nice to see another fan of Langford on this board. Your opinion definitely not popular around here... He's got the ability to carry a workload (20 carries), pass-protect, and he can catch the football. I think he lacks explosiveness, but that doesn't mean he can't get past the 2nd level of a defense.
Nope, I watched a lot of MSU football this year though because of the Cook - so I had a chance to take a look at players like Langford who have produced. The past couple years prior, I watched a lot of Duke football, UNC football w/ Butch Davis, Miami U football - they are well coached programs that have some good talent coming into the NFL. I like to keep my eye on those schools.
