I'll just say this ... For the love of God ... PLEASE do not waste a nickel on Le'veon Bell. Fix the damn OL and get the 2 best receivers you can find.
Here's my thoughts on where we have holes. I'll be curious to see what you think. FAs (names of players bolded will probably be brought back, those in italics may be brought back depending upon whom the GM and HC are) Josh McCown Morris Claiborne Buster Skrine James Carpenter Jermaine Kearse Bilal Powell Quincy Enunwa Steve McLendon Ben Ijalana Brent Qvale Neal Sterling Rontez Miles Josh Martin Brandon Copeland Jeremiah Attaochu Andre Roberts Dakota Dozier Jonotthan Harrison Rishard Matthews Henry Anderson Neville Hewitt Jason Myers Eric Tomlinson Darryl Roberts Doug Middleton Davis Webb Robby Anderson Deontay Burnett Frankie Luvu If this is how it plays out with our own FAs, the Jets will need a new starter at one of the CB spots, possibly a TE starter (or at least depth), an NT, WR depth, a slot CB, OL depth at OT, OG, C, and possibly a backup QB if the Jets don't think they can count on the ex-Giant kid. In order of need: Definite Holes (starters) Edge Rusher/OLB - possibilities: a choice between Lawrence, Clowney, Fowler, Ray, Ford, Barr, Ansah, LG or C - possibilities: A.J. Cann (OG), Max Garcia (OG), Kevin Pamphile (OG), Quinton Spain (OG), Mitch Morse (C), Matt Paradis (C) #1 WR - Donte Moncrief TE - Jesse James, Jeff Heuerman, Maxx Williams, CJ Uzomah, Geoff Swaim, Nick Boyle, James O'Shaughnessy RB - possibilities: Tevin Coleman, T.J. Yeldon, Mike Davis, Peyton Barber CB 1 or 2 - possibilities: Ronald Darby, Rashaan Melvin, Darqueze Dennard, Bradley Roby, Slot CB - ? Likely Holes LT - Beacham will be back under contract, but it would prudent for the Jets to draft his future replacement or sign one of the three following LTs: Donovan Smith, Trent Brown, Greg Robinson. Beacham could be cut. The Jets would take a $7 million dead money hit, but would save $2.5 million on the cap. Backup QB - ? NT/DT - possibilities: Jordan Phillips, Danny Shelton, Malcom Brown Depth LT - ? Edge Rusher/OLB - possibilities Chickillo, Barrett C - Brett Jones (C), Nick Easton (OG/C) WR - possibilities: Tyrell Williams, Adam Humphries, John Brown, Golden Tate RG - Lucas Patrick (OG), Jeremiah Sirles (OG), Jon Feliciano (OG), RT - Seantrel Henderson, Ja'wuan James, Bobby Hart
No comp if a team signs him off the transition tag. It would even cost the Steelers the compensatory pick the would get for him in 2020. Steelers get the right to match the offer but It would be easy for a team to front load the contract, the Steelers could not afford to match .
The Eagles went from terrible to SB champs in two years . The Colts were horrible earlier this year - the last 3 or 4 games they have jelled as a team. Those are two examples I used to show how much better the Jets can be after retooling in the coming off season ....
no I know, I was thinking myabe with transition tag some team might offer a 7th rounder or something I was just trying to lend even the slightest bit of creedence to NC's dumb post about the Steelers still having Bell's rights
And for the fans who don't give a crap about free agents, salary caps, draft pick projections and front office moves, we can just enjoy the remainder of the season. Isn't it great being a Jets' fan?
Nah, climate change, unbreatheable air, polluted water and food supply, and insurance companies that won't cover anything will have bankrupted and killed us all by then
I just don't think that the Eagles are a good example. Yes they won a Super Bowl but look like the will miss the playoffs and are in terrible cap position going forward and will have to release some key players next season.
They say that the population has been growing for years, and is stable now. Apparently more and more states have moved, or are moving to have them delisted as an endangered species.
Yes, that's why I'm concerned. I've read that several western states were making plans to have wolf hunts. I believe that one of them was blocked by one of the environmental groups in a lawsuit, but the others are still planning to have hunts. I've also read where a number of them have been poached illegally even though they were protected. I fear that in another 10 years there will be no wolves in the US, and no lions or elephants in Africa. Damn trophy hunters.
We’ve all seen this show before. No reason to believe this will be any different. Jets might open a small window to contend for the playoffs, then fall apart again, then fire everyone, etc. New GM. Let the GM pick the coach. Build a new vision together, even if it’s from the ground up. A fool and his money are soon parted, and Mac might just be a fool.
If anyone needs a refresher as to how far we are from being taken seriously, watch the Rams/Chiefs game on Monday nite. Pour yourselves a stiff drink and watch how franchises that have a clue look like after their plan comes together.
None of it matters if Darnold, does not get his act together, Watching highlights from the Paxton Lynchs, Mark Sanchezs,Brady Quinns of the world. They all seem do make the throws that sam misses . I am not impressed at all with Sam. 100 million in cap will not help him
