    One of them shot and killed by officers...Officers pursing the other...

    No need to arrest the ones that's currently alive...

    (DEVELOPING) - Richard Matt, one of two New York prison escapees, has been shot and killed by law enforcement officers, a law enforcement source confirmed to Fox News.

    He reportedly was killed in a remote area of Franklin County, N.Y. not far from two hunting cabins where he and fellow escapee David Sweat had taken refuge.

    There was no immediate word on the whereabouts of Sweat.

    Looking at a map, these guys only made it about 35-40 miles from the prison...slackers.

    They still can't find Sweat. And the dogs don't have his scent. Did he split with Matt. Did Matt maybe create a distraction so he could escape. They have not had a visual sighting of him.

    It would've made the most sense for them to split immediately after getting out of prison. The manhunt was for two escapees not one and one that could've went opposite directions. It may have made survival easier staying together if one was more savvy than the other but it also increases their chances of getting caught.

    Sweat should go to a flea market and buy a gun.

    It's easier to get a gun in most states than it is to vote.

    They shot and caught Sweat 2 miles short of the Canadian border. He's in surgery.
