Hahahahahahaha. Oh, I'm sorry, wait... Hahahahahahaha. No wait, really... Shade just officially joined the juncian school of arguing. Cut one line from someone's post, and pretend that it makes your point. Nice. So what did Wright and Reyes do yesterday with runners in scoring position late in the game? Oh, and nice diving catches by Beltran and Green! Awesome defensive showing yesterday Shade. What a tool you are. Really.
Yeah I did Shade. Now STFU. No, you know what, I won't tell you to shut up. I'll just put you on my ignore list ONCE AGAIN. This time though, I know there is no reason to ever bother taking your troll ass off it.
Nah, it wasn't interleague play. It's just one person. I didn't see you as much as I thought I would in the game thread, but if you look over it, it went really well with both sides. I'm really impressed with your ballclub. You look good. (And I don't really wish they lose 25 straight. That was just a knee-jerk reaction to a certain member.)
I was actually disappointed in the Mets play this weekend. When you look back at it, Wright and Chevez carried the Mets. Reyes, Beltran and Delgado never showed up. Perez was excellent. Glavine was Ok. Maine had a tough time against the Yankee lineup. He is not used to that constant pressure with most NL teams.
The Carloses NEVER hit at Shea, even when they're going well, which neither was, especially not Delgado. In 05 Beltran's OPS was pretty uniformly terrible around .740 both home and away, but the past 2 years Beltran's OPS has been .250 points higher away from Shea. Delgado's on the road last year was .180 points higher.
I don't think Reyes took off this weekend. He was able to steal, what, 3 times on Saturday? Not bad against Posada, who has become adept at throwing guys out. Beltran and Delgado were disappointing at the plate, yes. Beltran played well in center though, and at least you got that. I honestly think you guys are ready for the AL this year. Who else do you play in interleague?

Mets have a rough inter-league schedule, and its not fair. Besides six games against the Yankees, they go to Detroit for three games. Six games at home against Minnesota and Oakland. Now, Atlanta has to play 6 games against Boston, which is why they are complaining. The freaking Phillies get Toronto and Baltimore probably. Something is wrong with that. They also get three each against Detroit and White Sox.
The whole system is screwed up. Should give you the chance to see how you'll do against the AL in the World Series though. I wouldn't worry. I think you have the talent to get it done.
What's even stranger is that if you look at the park factors Shea is consistently better for LHB, especially power hitters as it actually inflates lefty HR totals. Guys like Valentin and Floyd have thrived in Shea and struggled on the road but the Carloses can't seem to get on track at home for whatever reason.
Like I said, it's wierd. Even worse, we're talking two hundred points! That's more than an aberration, that's a different ballplayer. Neither gets bad PR at home do they? The fans don't boo them or anything, right? Just strange.
Please, stop giving mets fans a bad name. If a player is hitting, say, .300 in clutch situations, a retarded toddler could explain to you that that means he fails in clutch situations 70% of the team. Doesn't mean he isn't clutch.
Wow dude, so you subract 3 from 10 to get 7? Amazing. Yankee fans set themselves up for this. They trash an immortal like Arod using the clutch argument. Yet Jeter is bullet proof and the god of all things clutch who always comes through. Its just not the case.
Well, Beltran did in 05 but that stopped early last year and it's starting for Delgado now but he wasn't booed last season.
So because they're wrong about one thing Mets fans owe it to them to be equally wrong? I don't get it. I agree with you that the Yankees fans griping about A-Rod is nothing more than the whining of spoiled bandwagon fans who don't really understand baseball.
I'm neither spoiled, nor a bandwagoner who does not understand baseball. I bitched about ARod because he failed in situations where we needed him last year. His stats were still great, and I never denied that, but he came up in far too many situations where he had runners at the corners, with one out, and grounded into a DP. Or K'd to end an inning with RISP. It was fair to get down on him. (And I was the last guy on this board defending him, all the way till the Boston Massacre series. Finally, I had to admit that he was killing us at the plate.) Jeter gets away with far more than anyone else, simply because he doesn't have true slumps. He goes on 10-game hitting streaks all the time, throughout his career. He's hitting .500 with RISP now. Plus, he's a proven champion, who has never let up in the postseason. So talking shit about him is stupid. Did ARod get a raw deal last year? Probably. But them's the breaks in NY. He knew coming in that it's the hardest place to play in the world. Clemens had better be paying attention. If he comes in here and doesn't shut teams down from the get-go, he's getting booed.
