I don’t see it either. Weird. Lawrence is also on his 3rd head coach in 5 years. More than us which is wild.
I remember when Chris Simms told us all that Zach Wilson would be a better NFL quarterback than Trevor Lawrence.
You know, I always found this funny. When a PLAYER is a draft bust, he gets roasted. What about all the so called "experts" who proclaimed the guy a generational talent? Why don't they take any heat for their predictions?
I think everyone is wrong a lot and operating with limited information so I do see why we dont roast the media guys in general. Simms was way over the top with Wilson though beyond just predicting he will be a good player. Simms was mocking those that questioned him. he deserves to be roasted
Well, my brother flew down for the weekend.... sure glad we opted to watch the game at home, and spend the $ on steaks and too much beer... (not sure my internal organs agree though) Turning the JETS into a drinking game makes the games more interesting, but it certainly has consequences the next day....
Yesterday was the first time I missed a Jets game in I would say 5-6 years. I'm wondering if you could fill me in how did Willy Mcd and JJ do ??
The feeling I get with him, while he is not a great QB everyone thought he would be, he is at least competent. It's not easy to constantly learn new offensive system again and again and again since your rookie year. But seems like he is doing better now with the arrow trending up. I think the goal for us is to find a competent QB like that, and if we get someone better, that's great. But I would take someone like Lawrence in a heartbeat.
He is definitely competent but the point @BroadwayAaron was trying to make is that QB’s like him, Tua, Kyler, Daniel Jones, etc. get a big bag and their top end upside is maybe a playoff win. Obviously that would be awesome for us since we’re been a bottom dweller for 15 years but those teams end up in a purgatory of mediocrity where a 4-13 season is right around the corner with those guys.
I completely agree it is better to have a superstar QB. But guys like Lawrence can do well with a good coach and the roster. Hurt, Goff, these are not some fearsome QBs, but with the right support system even made SB. Let's see how far TL goes this year. I just don't want to scoff at someone like Lawrence, when we are in such shit for 15 years and counting. It would have certainly helped to have him vs Zach and Fields. My point really is that we need to draft someone like that or better, that may be our only shot to get out of this shit we've been on for 15 years. And that shot lies high in the draft.
