    I'm pretty sure this is the October 1978 game, the Jets won to go to 4-3. It was the same day the Yankees beat the Dodgers to go up 3-2 in the World Series.

    I'm a little older than you. 1978 is the only year Robinson really played, except the 1979 opener, which was a home game vs Cleveland. Since I'm a Dodger fan, I remember both of those 1978 games being on the same day. That Game 5 I think was the day Reggie Jackson stuck his hip out into a DP throw and caused chaos, the umps let it happen, I was pissed. Happy about the Jets, though.

    No one wonders why the Yankees are hated. When you have the most successful fracnhise in the history of sports it will breed hatred.

    Maynard's #13 was retired while Jennings was on the team, so he switched to #4 after that.
