I find it helps to ignore all the brink-of-war noise and just focus on the glorious and unending word salad that flows so freely out of Kamala Harris. Makes waking up each day pure joy.
I don't know what to make of Harris. I really hated the pick when she was tabbed as the VP choice. Would have much preferred Klobuchar - who I think many more Americans would have related well too as a Biden surrogate. However all the focus on police violence really did her in. Harris, BTW, was one of the toughest prosecutors in recent LA history but she got a pass from the people who would normally have been screaming because she was African-American.
If you're lucky, some day you might realize that you've been played by Russian propaganda. The facts are that Ukraine IS an imperfect, fledgling democracy and their opponent is a brutal dictatorship. But go ahead and criticize the mote in Ukraine's eye while ignoring the beam in Russia's eye. Germany agreed to stop the 10 billion Euros gas line deal with Russia. EU is getting ready to announce the sanctions that will target Russia's financial system. Next step will be to reduce Europe's dependence on Russian oil. The US alliance in Middle East and Mediterranean is building big gas lines towards Europe. Once this stage is completed, it will be a showdown between USA and China in the next 5-10 years.
Fuck Putin, if I got this right he declared regions of Ukraine “independent” on his own and then sending in troops to “aid” them. What’s stopping anyone else from trying that? China could do the same thing with Taiwan for example. Someone needs to knock that fucker Putin in the mouth
Sanctions may be somewhat effective, but I think its aiming at the wrong targets. You don't hit Putin directly, you go after his Oligarchs' money. You freeze their holdings and if necessary, confiscate them outright in the name of "National Security". You freeze all Russian assets in American and European banks. Money talks. Especially with the Oligarch gangsters who really are the one propping up Putin. If Putin wants to go into debt to the chinese, fine. But its the money that will get more accomplished than bullets and bombs.
Serious answer. Make fun of me if I am missing the humor again Mediterrenan countries, by late March Germany and all, mid to late April Denmark Norway Sweden etc in June
No humor. So the Russians realistically have about a month or six weeks to put the wood to our allies in terms of the natural gas reliance if they want to respond to sanctions. I think we can tough that out.
Europe doesn't only use gas for heating homes. Russian gas is fueling Europen factories. So big hit for Europe will be their production outputs.
Obviously if it was a full on end of days war Russia would win but I read where Ukraine’s military ain’t too shabby (20th ish) and with the behind the scenes support from allies they could take some swipes at Russia. idk if Putin could survive the local objection if they start takin any life losses. Putin is kinda like Trump, he just lies out his ass to his constituents and most the smart people of Russia think he’s an asshole. They aren’t gonna want a bloody war with Ukraine, many of their ethnic brothers, just cause Putin tells them to.
