Tampa Bay unhappy after the bad call, so of course they do the roughing bullshit immediately afterwards.
That was an awesome 1st period. Multiple power plays, multiple fights, high intensity; TBL/NYI is becoming a true Eastern Conference Rivalry. The type of Rivalry I loved to see as a kid during the early-mid 1900's between NYR/NJD (they HATED each other).
Despite the injury that’s a successful period for the Saints to withstand that Tampa aggression and come out tied.
Win or lose tonight the Isles have shown they belong. This will be a long series. Come on Saints beat the Bucs.
If Islanders win tonight? It won't be a long series while stealing home ice up 2-0. But if Lightning win tonight? Series could easily go 7. Feeling like this is a MUST WIN for Islanders in order to suffocate these Lightning kids.
Tampa Bay takes the lead on a clear too many men on the ice situation. It was a terrible job of backchecking, but still ...
Damn I went to pick up a pizza and came home to 2-1. How clear of a too many men on the ice was it? I'm trying to find a screen shot online but to no luck so far. The refs didn't at least review the goal?
I do agree though. Win or lose these Islanders have already proven they belong. Did what they had to do; stole home ice. Side note: I already can't wait to see Zach Wilson on the island come game 3!
It was very clear - they showed a picture on TV. Goals can't be reviewed for that reason, but Trotz knew it immediately and was screaming about it.
I never paid attention and realized that about hockey. It's 2021. You'd think with technology they would literally review all scoring goals (like NFL TDs).
