No problem, glad I can help. I just post everything that I think might help off the old interweb in these stagnant football purgatory times.
I had a feeling they'd be talking to him. Every single highlight he has is followed by the words "fastest player in college football."
I am confident that JD is a smart, professional GM and the right man for the job. That's why I'm confident. I don't think for one minute that he's seriously considering rolling with Sam. I think they're doing what they're doing to try to drvie Sam's value up, and to save face for Sam, because he likes Sam as a person. I think Wilson will probably be the pick, but it could be Fields. I can also see Douglas perhaps trading down with Atlanta if they promise not to take Lance, getting an additional 2nd round pick, and then taking Lance at #4.
Love Molden. He plays with his hair on fire. I know he played corner for Washington but he reminds me a lot of Tyrann Mathieu. Small but willing tackler and flies to the ball at all times at 100mph. Doubt we're the only team that saw that though and I also doubt he can play corner outside in the pros. Might be an option at strong safety.
About the Lance option: so who would be your quarterback on week 1, considering that Lance played only one game last year, and that at a lower level?
Doubt we'll target him. He's stood up in a 3-4 his whole career and honestly I can't see him having a lot of success away from the system he's in - similar to Steelers outside linebackers. Pernell McPhee part II. Could be ZaDarius Smith but I'm not so sure. Either way I imagine he ends up somewhere with a true 3-4 defense.
I did a spotlight of him here https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/after-1st-round-players-spotlight.95092/page-2#post-4048471 With that said I do think there are better players to pick then him, i'm not sold on him personally and his play speed doesn't seem to match his speed
I think Lance probably needs to sit for a year or at least half a year. If he's healthy, I would sign Tyrod Taylor in FA. He's a similar type of QB as Lance: athletic, can run with the ball, and strong arm. He has tons of experience, and the offense wouldn't have to be changed dramatically to fit Lance when he was ready to play. The offense could basically be designed around Lance now. That would ease his transition and keep consistency/continuity for the rest of the offensive players. I don't know anything about Beathard other than he is the backup in SF, so he knows the system. If he is mobile and can run the ball like Taylor, then he would be an option as well. He'd probably be cheaper than Taylor, and perhaps more likely to stay healthy for the full season since Taylor is older and has had some injury issues the last several years. It would probably be one of those two. Andy Dalton could also be a possibility, but at this stage of his career, I don't know how mobile he is, and I think it would be better to try to design the offense now to fit the rookie QB, and adjust it as little as necessary for the veteran starter..
Lol right. I like Tremble because he's a willing blocker and good athlete. He just didn't get much of a chance as a pass catcher because he was stuck behind Kmet and now "baby Gronk" as they call him in Michael Mayer.
