Well that sure changed.... from drought, to all day dumping Tropical Storm rain yesterday..... then sure enough, they named it. TWO Named storms in May?!.... nah, nothings changing in the world
And now 92 degrees this afternoon. 9 days and I'm out of here but with my luck I'll hit a heat wave in the midwest.
A few years ago when were were having a HOT (by FL standards) start to summer, I figured I'd finally go visit my cousin who moved to Portland a few years earlier for 4th of July weekend for some "Paciffic NW" weather....... of course, record heat wave, and Portland was 96 degrees... ha. Everyone was freakin, but it felt like it was nice by FL standards
I had to leave Florida to spend an august in Nevada while in the navy . Much netter In Nevada, Florida is the heat plus the humidity makes it stifling, Nevada it might be 110f but there’s gambling and legal prostitution, much easier to cope.
Yep, without the constant humidity the heat is much easier to handle. Well at least until it gets up around 110.
I liked it better with CBG and his snow obsession. This bitchin’ and moanin’ of Floridans is unbearable. Lol
Hey boys...just checking in...I see cbg is not posting so I read back...I see politics got him. It's a killer. 2011 was the last time I tried that here. He is ok I hope? Will check back. I will throw him a text. Good to see all the favs still posting.
Tropical storm Fay today. My area Fair Lawn NJ (Bergen County) is predicted to get 2-4 inches of rain today/tonight with wind gust 40-50 MPH.
I live a few miles away from you, not far from the Stadium. I am wondering how much of those 2-4 inches will end up in my basement.
That is a concern. For me I have 2 sump pumps and a french drain now so my basement stays dry. Last time I had water in the basement was when tropical storm Irene hit like 10 years or so ago. That sucked having to clean up the basement.
My basement usually collects water, only when we have a really bad storm. Irene was probably the worst. I had over a foot of water in my basement after Irene, and I live on the side of a hill. My basement isn’t finished, and I have gotten used to keeping everything off the floor. I have a dry sump, but it isn’t very large. So, it fills fast. I have three coffee can style floor pumps that I put down when I know a bad storm is coming. I’m going to set them up now.
