Does regime change actually hurt a QB? It's a common talking point, but I don't see much evidence backing it up. Sure, there's a correlation between regime change and failure, but that could easily be because the failure causes the regime change and not the other way around. And even if regime change has a negative effect, it may still be better than sticking with a flawed coach.
This is the sort of thing where I think you have to look at it empirically because there's really no other way to know what's right.
Quarterbacks struggle early in new systems. Alex Smith and Marcus Mariota are both good examples of damaged goods top flight picks who change offensive philosophies every other year for the beginning of their career. There are others. Continuity is important.
Well I certainly do have a problem with Gase's game plans and play calling. I stand by the results hes achieved to support that conclusion. But I've also said he's a bad HC because of the other issues. We will continue to be at opposite poles on this.

Not making excuses for Sam but this weather will make any QB look bad - wet and cold and handling a football is not a good combo.
