We can only hope and pray that he's done something stupid enough to void his contract. This team is cursed.
Cheer up. Even with this injury, Cespedes can still get down the line to first base faster than Cano!
2 wins in a row. Hopefully they can keep a pulse. I’m gonna hold off on the celebration and see how they play against the Dodgers & diamondbacks.
Nice win. Good example of why I never thought the strategic decision to let people steal second base with a runner on third was as good an idea as managers seem to think, especially with a fast man up at bat and you playing the infield back. Alonso continues to have a great rookie year. Familia continues to be one of the worst relievers in MLB history.
Come on Callaway. To not even have Diaz warming up. Should have brought him for 4 out save. I mean come on dude!
Obviously I'm happy that the Mets swept the Nats, but I don't appreciate the narrative that the SNY guys are pushing about "what a difference 72 hours makes," as if these four games show that the lousy season up to now is somehow a mirage. Sorry, Callaway was a crappy manager four days ago, he's a crappy manager now, and he'll be a crappy manager next week. If this sweep somehow saved his job that's a bad thing, not a good one.
Here's a question: Will Ces ever play another game on this present contract? When is that contract up?
One more year after this year. And my prediction is that he will play next year, although I expect fewer than 81 games.
He'll magically heal with a month left in the season of his final year when the METS have nothing to play for, then go bezerk for a few weeks and sucker some more $ out of someone.....
Of his 11 starts Syndergaard has given up at least four earned runs in 7 of them. This is supposed to be an ace?
Oh and the Mets Signed Ervin Santana and Matt Kemp to minor league contract. What are we a Nursing home?
