If we're the only suitors and he hasn't signed yet WTF are we still doing at the table? Disrespect is disrespect and no player who disrespects the team he is signing with is going to be any good for them.
Perhaps Paradis never wanted to come to NY, who knows. Could've had Winters recruit him. If he strikes out on Paradis and Bell, it's not completely over for Mac. Could rebound nicely if he can put together a solid draft and find some 2nd tier FA players that can contribute.
They fired the head coach and kept the GM on a Prove It basis and the guy is desperate to make a splashy signing because he's trying to save his job. You know, New York Jets type of business.
As a Jets fan I have no objection to players disrespecting the Jets organization. It might even be a plus.
Jets set a deadline to have an answer from Bell. Being that he's has blown off virtually every single deadline that was ever imposed on him they should just announce that they're suspending him proactively...
Wanted Mac fired along with Bowles but cant fault him for this. He's offering guys the most money and they are chosing to play elsewhere for less.
When the team you've put together has won 14 games in 3 entire seasons, shit like this happens. Face it folks, the New York Jets are not a prime destination even with $100m to spend.
Agent: Babe you gotta come back in and sign the deal! Bell: But it's the f-ing Jets man!!! You didn't say nothing about the Jets when we decided to hold out!!! Agent: Yeah, yeah, yeah but they're where the money's at! The Benjamins speak my man and they are saying Jets Green, Benjamins Green, time to sign... Bell: Man you don't know what it's like to be a Jet! I play those guys every few years and they're all fat and happy with big contracts and a win now and then! I can't play like that! You know what everybody is going to be saying in the Steeler's locker room? Agent: Well it's $14M a year with the Jets or maybe a one year $8m deal somewhere else. Bell: Fuck!, fuck!, fuck!. How did I get here? Get me a movie deal man!!!
I agree with others, something wasn’t right with the Paradis situation. If we move on from Bell, wonder if they beat the Paradis contract.
