With all the heat we throw his way....I think we all need to take a moment to appreciate Todd and be happy for him as an individual. The guy has not had a suitable roster since his arrival...specifically lacking depth in the secondary and stability/enthusiasm at QB.

He made his money mixing up coverages and building a turnover focused defense that helped support Bruce Arians ball control based offense. For the last few years, he has carried himself well and has done a lot with the little he has been given.

There were some moments last night that you can see him break a smile, particularly after the Lee ints....he has mentored Lee for some time and the two have a bond. I can't help but think Todd said to himself, "All the time I spent with the younger guys is finally producing."

I really hope we see progress in these areas.....not every game will go this way....but if we continue to force some turnovers every game and play competent offense....with Darnold developing--I would be very pleased.

Cheers Todd......thanks for making us proud fans on primetime.

I get the "heat" Bowles gets for in-game stuff like clock management etc.

What I'll never understand is the criticism he receives for the way he handles the rest of his duties.

It looks like (finger crossed) we are starting to see some results of his steady hand on the tiller.

Bowles is a good coach. He's not the most refined coach or technically sound coach. But look at the rosters he has worked with.

I believe and continue to believe he is our answer (as is Darnold and Mac) for the next 10-15 years.

I'll be happy for Bowles if he does it again Sunday. Need to build consistency. Something they have not had under him.

Yeah sure. You'll go back to hating him again for the smallest reasons. #agenda

Fine and good, but if he ever lets his OC call a bubble screen or end around to Robbie Anderson on third and short again, I'm going to break something.

I've never seen Bowles smile so much. It's like he's thinking, "We got a QB! Finally! I might keep my job after all!"

That play on 3rd and 2 from the 45 is fine. A little cute but if the worst happens you were punting anyway. He took points off the board calling it at the 35. That’s inexcusable.

When you have stability and health at that position...like we do at the moment, it allows a head coach to focus on areas and other particulars to improve the team. I think he finally has the freedom to do certain things schematically he couldn't do before. Lets see how the rest of the years plays out...but structurally it seems like the right direction.

I already know I'll get heat for that thread....I still think Pederson has a better offensive mind than anyone on our current staff....but we should support Bowles as long as he is showing he can steer the team as a whole in a positive direction. I'll stand by any of my threads though.....

Master class job done by him and his staff getting the team ready to play in week 1.

I don't know what was more impressive Darnold's bounce back after the pick six or the way the defense dominated Mathew Stafford.

0 passing yards in the first quarter in Detroit? 4 picks? They almost knocked him out of the game multiple times just brutalized him. Defensive score. Setting up easy scores for the O.

    Who saw that coming?

Got to love the way the team rallied around Sam after the INT. Looks like we have a great locker room and coaching staff. Also love Mccown last night. I don't see a player walking up to Sam and breaking his jaw this season looking for his allowance money back.

I've read the Lions don't particularly like Patrica and it showed last night. They played for almost a quarter and a half and then pretty much said fck it. Not taking anything away from the Jets, but the Lions looked completely dispirited. Morale must be at an all time low in the locker room.

It's funny...Cowherd predicted a 3-0 start for the Jets today.

He loves him some Sam Darnold.

Patricia was criticized in NE for not having the personality to click with the players....known more for his X and O's and work with the schematics. When you lead an entire team...this has to change. Seems like a hardworking guy and obviously it's how he earns money for his family. Maybe our new defensive coordinator if he gets fired lol?

That is huge! Sam seems like a guy that wins the respect and support of his teammates easily, I love the way the players talk about him and have confidence in him.
