Cubs made two solid moves by signing winning players like Zobrist and Lackey. They also made a bonehead move by giving Heyward what they did. Thats something the Royals would never do, partly because they cant with their budget. But I honestly just want to follow the blueprint that we've been following. Dont want to follow another teams even if one of those teams won it all last year. Royals werent the first team that made moves necessary to win a championship at the deadline , and they wont be the last. If we're in that position come deadline time and there is a player out there that could put us over the top , I think we'll be in that mix to get him (whoever that player may be)
