I didn't stomp my feet whining about meaningless facts like you did.

Ken led his high powered O's to 9 PPG the last 5 weeks of season, Ryan comes in and we score 28 on O(psst- 28 is slightly better than 9), he started in Cle and we get off to a great start, he leaves game and O is awful w/o him except for one Freeman long TD run.

You keep taking the facts and twisting them to fit your assertion which you admitted you do not even believe in.

Ken O'Brien was the starting QB. Ryan only came in due to injury.

You even admitted that you do not think Ryan is better.

What Ryan scored in Kansas City has nothing to do with Cleveland.

In the first drive against Cleveland the Jets had a good game plan and Wesley Walker took a long pass to the house yet you give all of the credit to Ryan.

Just get off of your high horse and give Ken O'Brien the respect that the man deserves already.

Ryan came in b/c Ken was playing poorly, O'Brien was benched. Ken got back in during the Cle game b/c Ryan got hurt.

The Walker TD was a flea flicker, great throw and great catch.

I don't have a high horse, I deal in reality. I know what Ken was, I know how overrated he is on here and I know what you guys would be saying about him if he played today.

BTW, is the AFC East was so weak in 1985, how come both wild cards came out of that division?

I don't know? maybe b/c only one other WC eligible team had a winning record? maybe b/c the Jets and Pats each got 4 wins from facing Ind/Buf?

But that same season, the NFC had only one other eligible WC team with a winning record as well?

In addition, that was the season that had that All-Time great Chicago Bears team. The one with only one loss, to a team in which Division?

the defending champ 49ers were the lowest seed in the NFC, they would have won the AFC. SF was 3-1 against AFC teams w/ lone loss being by 1 pt on the road at Denver. the other 3 games against AFC teams they won by an average of 22 PPG. The AFC was brutal back then.

on the road w/o their starting QB. Chi would have annihilated Miami if Miami beat NE in the title game to reach the SB.

I feel you brother...but, I will say it again, it's all about the WINS!!!!!! Trent Dilfer was a statistical nightmare yet...guess what...the fuckin' guy wears a ring. He did enough to win. It's just the way it is. Sanchez did enough to WIN.

See...every time I bring up the "eyeball" test I get laughed at. I use it when talking about Simms...he passes the eyeball test...Geno does not. However, if we are going on the "eyeball" test only then Chad Pennington was the best QB ever to don a NY Jets Jersey...and that INCLUDES our golden goose Namath. Period.

actually Sanchez was much better than the statistics would indicate. this game is about making plays to win and while he wouldn't look pretty at times(and sometimes played awful) he was vital to our title game runs and Ken held back talented teams from making their own runs.

Right. That is why giving up on Sanchez was so upsetting. He has all the tools. Steps up in big moments, no stage was too big for him. His problem was stupid mistakes and turnovers. Something I still feel he can fix with support from a franchise and just by learning from experience. Sadly, he has not found that stable situation yet. Maybe it is coming this offseason. We will see.

I think he had that in Philly last year and I think he played well. will he stay there? will Philly move Foles? will he go to Buffalo and be w/ Rex? interesting offseason for him.

    *crossing my fingers*

if nothing else, this defense that has been terrible at creating turnovers will be sure to get a boost in that department with playing Sanchez/Rex twice a year!
