For those people saying that the next GM needs to "stop this circus," you will be sorely disappointed. There are only three things that will stop this kind of ridiculousness surrounding the Jets, and two of those things are intimately connected. The first way the Jets can see this circus atmosphere disappear is pretty straightforward: Winning. And winning consistently. Obvious, right? If this happens, all the rest of the bullshit goes away. Of course, this is easier said than done... but this is the only thing the Jets' GM will have any control over. The second way? The beat writers could realize they are football reporters and stop writing stories fit for the tabloids. They could stop creating (and then feeding) self-fulfilling prophecies with their stories. Media prediction: Tebow will cause a circus! Media stories that follow: Let's keep asking players questions about whether it's a circus until someone says something that supports our claim that it's a circus! The third way (and the way that's connected to the second) is for the fans to stop digesting the drivel they put out there. Honestly, I find it more pathetic than anything else. I enjoy sports. I enjoy rooting for the Jets (lord knows why). I enjoy analyzing performances and comparing strategies and personnel decisions and all that shit that happens on the field. Beyond that, who cares? It's entertainment. I fail to see how any of this crap is relevant to the performance of my football team of choice on the field. And by crap, I'm referring not so much to the story itself as much as the metric shit-ton of stories out there trying to paint is as a "scandal." If it was a blurb on some page6 type of thing, fine. Instead we get stories about how his wife is TOTALLY NAKED (except for the jersey)! She's Tebowing! OMG, this is why Tebow didn't play! WHAT WAS REX THINKING?! I dont understand why this is that much different then getting a Jets symbol tattoo. The guy wanted a tattoo of his wife and he loves being the HC of the Jets so he put a jersey on her. Starting QB is always a go to jersey.
