Well yes and no...imo the real problem is that quality coaches don't want to work here For example Quinn was prob offered a nice paycheck but he chose The better team ( Atlanta and Matt ice) Now if we draft a blue chip QB and beef up the OL I bet we draw some interest Coaches are not stupid ...they go where they think they can win Toilet Bowles was bottom of the barrel on candidate list......SMH
I don't care how much we do or don't spend. The Jets will always be a 2 bit ballclub. Remember the two cheesy painted plywood signs of Namath & Weeb "jerseys" they would drag out to Jetify the Meadowlands? I used to see them from our seats and I knew what this team was all about. The only time the Jets ever spent big was when they nabbed Namath. Look how that worked out...
except bowles was a hot name throughout the league when the coaching carousel started for 2015 and you have no idea what quinn would have been offered. but that why you are the worst poster on this board bar none
Quinn wouldn't have gotten any better results with this team in my humble opinion. It will take a coach like Payton to whip this organization into shape.
Correct.... but there is like a snowballs chance in h*ll he would leave NO for this mess There's a list of candidates in our dreams and then there is the real list Let the GM get someone one and end the agony...like I said we need some bait e.g. A young QB and rebuilt team
How about when we were making playoff runs? Over spending for veterans? Or when we had to buy a secondary a few years ago? Or the millions needed to create one of the state of the art facilities in the entire NFL? The money isn't the problem with the Jets as Woody has shown he has absolutely no problem spending the money. To me money isn't why this team is in shits creek without a paddle. It's because we continue to miss on QB prospects and continue to whiff on high picks. Hack 2nd round pick, Devin Smith 2nd round pick, Quinton Coples, Pryor, Dee Milliner, etc, the missing on high draft picks has left this team devoid of talent. We have no young QB to mask these flaws either which creates a continuous cycle of ineptitude. Paired with insanely conservative coaching - and a coach who has a middling ceiling and you have a problem. The money is not the problem, it never was. Woody isn't the Wilpons.
I don’t know what it takes to be qualified to be a mod, but it should at least include having a bit better understanding of the game and the team than this.
Couldn't agree more, this group of mods (not all) remind me of the 2016 Republican Presidential Candidates (Carson, Cruz, Huckabee, Rubio, Santorum, Bozo...etc) --- I'm no longer surprised at anything written by mods or their ilk.
You, a mod, started a thread that is complete bullshit and trolling. It should be closed. Keep your tissues for whatever else you'll be crying about, pilotboy. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
You act like I wrote the fukin article ...lol..foh..trolling? Because someone has a different opinion is trolling...wow... I'll be sure to get you the bigger box.
You're definitely not trolling with this thread, but you'd have to be a fool to think you wouldn't get tarred and feathered for posting it.
We've been in cap hell too many times for this thread to make sense. We've made our splurges more than a few times bro. Now we're doing it the right way not the cheap way. You see those young guys out there playing their asses off? Sure they're losing games but that's expected from a young team. Now imagine if we add a few legit ballers at a few positions with all this money we have..we don't have to spend it all.. just some to get some key pieces and continue down the road we're on...getting young talent that will help further build our brand.
