I was watching Mangold earlier at the Super Bowl and he said he is healthy now and may try to play in 2018. Would you be interested in Re-signing this Beast?

If the Jets sign Cousins, protecting him would be important. At 34 and with a year of rest, Mangold could be an option if he is truly healthy.

I know it's Super Bowl weekend, but it's a little early to be drinking.

I'd take 34 year old Mangold over Wes Johnson.

I think mangolds mother bear instincts would come into play if we draft a rookie QB, he will want to nurture and protect him at all costs

Nick Mangold needs to help us recruit Andrew Norwell in free agency. We need a new Wookie.

Maybe we can draft another Ohio State C in the second round this year. :)

Wouldn't it be great if the class acts like Mangold could go out on their own terms?

How about we stop living in the past? That's the same mentality that brought a washed up Revis back and it was painfully obvious he was just collecting a paycheck.

If Mangold had anything left he would have been signed by another team already.

Draft oline help and move on.

If a year off has helped Mangold, think how good Favre is by now.

Forget Favre! Think how great Joe Willie Namath would be after a couple of decades rest! ;):p

Obviously he isn't the future for us, but if he's healthy and can return back to at least 2015 form, he's an instant upgrade, a leader, and a class act. plus a lifetime jet so yeah id take him on a 1 year affordable deal for sure

    Option 1: Sign Richburg
    Option 2: Draft a C(preferably Price)

    Option 100: Sign Mangold
I love what Mangold did for our O Line for a decade and the incredible class he displayed off the field, but at this point he is most likely done as a player. Maybe he can be an O Line coach for us? :)

Mangold was saying that the reason he didn't play last year was because of his leg injury. It never got back to where it was, but he says he's finally starting to feel better, so he may consider it. I could see him coming back on a cheap deal, but either way they need to address the position hopefully in the draft.

Mangold was a good player but I would pass on him. He represents the old Jets that Macc just purged off the team. When losing becomes consistent, players become complacent and it gets harder to instill a winning attitude in the locker room. I imagine that Mangold was a great technician at his position, but I never liked his even keeled attitude, especially after a loss. And it wasn't only him, many other players (Brick, Revis, Harris, etc.) had the same temperament. They need players who are ready to spit nails after a loss.

What about the reports that Mangold was one of the ones working hard behind the scenes to get Fitz back. If true that doesn't seem like he'd be a good presence on this team.
