If they keep 7 he will, if 6 I don't see it. He looked good in OTAs and the start of camp but fell way off the second half of camp.
As soon as he the news, Bowles suggested Kearse do some sit ups..work on that 6 pack..boo boo all gone
He's outplayed everyone but the starters and Roberts imo.. Should make the team. either way he was a late pick dart throw that looks good. hard to criticize that pick.
On the fence with Hansen. Doesn't look like he's quite skilled enough to be that plucky white receiver. His size is not at all impressive. And he does zilch on special teams. Still it is a tad early and he has shown some ability in camp and that has to count for something. If they want to dump him for someone who can play special teams (where we sorely need help) and can provide depth at another position, go right ahead. I can sort of take him or leave him at this point.
Just goes to show how not only was he undrafted in 2015 but still to this day there are no teams that want him. Same goes for both Charles Johnson and Tre McBride at the end of the day Charles Johnson is nothing more than a 29 soon to be 30 year old WR, former 7th round pick out of Grand Valley State and one who's on his 5th team in only 6 years and/or Tre McBride who's a former 7th round pick out of William & Marry along with 0 production throughout his first 3 years and one who's on his 3rd team in only 4 years. As did Lucky Whitehead, I'd bet that both of Johnson and McBride would clear waivers if were released tomorrow. And I have a hard time believing that two 2nd year players in ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen whom were drafted out of Alabama and Cal as 3rd & 4th rounds picks would "clear waivers" after only their rookie seasons. I just can't see it. Same goes for Charone Peake who's out of Clemson while heading into the NFL's infamous 3rd year. I have a hard time seeing either of ArDarius, Hansen or Peake being released let alone clearing waivers...
I think Peake gets cut but not Hansen or Stewart. At least I hope not. I’m still keeping the faith. Stewart is safe for 2 weeks so it wouldn’t make sense to cut him. Maybe Peake stays for 2 weeks especially if Kearse is still ailing.
I forgot Stewart is suspended. Yeah, the suspension "saves" him. It's possible its a huge saving grace if there is an injury week 1 or 2 and they need him when he gets back. Hansen is useless. He doesn't play special teams and he's not as good a receiver as the guys that do play specials. If they keep him it's because Maccagnan asked them to, not because he made the team. McBride, Roberts, Johnson, Peake, they are all better than him at the position and they play special teams
Andre Roberts, I would think, is a lock. Someone has to return punts or at least catch them. They wanted Cannon to get the job but he can't be trusted back there. In the Giants game they were putting R.B. Charcandrick West back there though, which is interesting. He hasn't done it before in the NFL but if he can be serviceable back there you could keep him and let Roberts go. There's a spot for a running back too since McGuire is hurt and I don't think Cannon will play much at all once the reg season starts. West could be that 3rd running back in McGuire's absence / punt returner, but he's got to show he will be reliable catching punts
I was really hoping Whitehead would win the returner job as I think he's the most explosive. But he got hurt yet again. They will keep Roberts now for sure as he's at least dependable to catch the ball.
It's really hard to make a case for Hansen at this point. He was virtually MIA in preseason. The Pats are looking for another white receiver while Edelman suspended tho.
Fun trivia fact: Whitehead was the dude banging Zeke Elliot's girlfriend behind his back. That'll get you cut by Dallas real quick.
