With all of the possibillities for our QB situation, I want to see who the fans are pulling for to be our starting QB for '06.

Pennington can't be trusted, Young and Leinart will probably be gone by the time you're on the clock, Garanteeing a rookie QB like Cutler 15 Million isn't the answer. Culpepper(assuming he still wants more garanteed money) and Brees are way out of your league cap-wise.

That leaves Ramsey, McCown, and Collins.

    Beautiful.

Honestly, a Pennington with a healthy arm would be my top choice because he's the most proven winner out of all of those. As the facts go though, it doesn't look like that will be the case. Culpepper would be nice because even if he is overrated he's still shown he's got talent. I dunno what to think of the college QBs.

I want us to draft Jay Cutler and start Patrick Ramsey for the 06 season.

I think I might have convinced some guys about the McCown option.

I think he has a good chance to be a player in this league still given some weapons on offense. He will never carry a team but with a couple decent WRs and a decent line to protect him he could do alright. Unfortunately we have neither.

He should come cheap also and I don't really want a rookie starting for us anyways.

Matt Leinart is just as much of a long shot as penny.

First Pennington, and then draft another QB and build the franchise around him. Maybe DJ Shockley could be a steal at the draft

    Are you Pennington voters SERIOUS???????????

This site just has to be loaded with an average age of 13....

Pennington is nothing nore than a liability on the books right now.... Sheesh - Same people loved Bradway and Herm I bet... Did ya hear the one about Bradway working from home and showing up when he wants?

I don't mind Ramsey. I really don't think he's that bad. He's gritty and strongheaded, and he might make some mistakes, but with the right coaching I think he's salvageable. Costwise and productionwise, he might be the best available option.

No big deal. Half the team worked from home last year. We were trying something new, that's all.

    Cutler

I voted for Cutler. I am very suspicious of a player that shoots up the charts, but I watched the NFL channel last night. Corey Chavous and another guy both rated this guy very high. Now I realize it wasn't Mel Kiper, but they did talk about a few things. He had a bad line and was successful inspite of that. He has a STRONG arm and decent mobility. The one guy said he made a throw this year that maybe only five guys (college and pro) could make. At first I was totally against drafting him, but the more I hear it sounds like it could be the correct decision. Look at it this way; you can always get an OL in the first couple of rounds every year who can start. You can also sign decent lineman, but you can't draft or sign through FA a franchise QB. If Cutler is that guy, then draft him. I know for as many first round qb's that do well, there is probably 2 that don't, but let's hope this guy is our Dan Marino not Ken Obrien. One final note, I have complete confidence in the new guys and if they decide to go with a qb at #4 then I believe it will be the right choice.

Josh McCown would be the safest and cheapest way to go. They just gave Warner a new contract and McCown has shown some flashes on a bad team that had no running back.

Brees, Cutler, or Leinart I would be equally happy with.
