Tank Bowl I! Jets win 2-0 on a highly dubious safety call where it appeared that the 3rd string QB's forward progress was stopped by 4th string safety Jeremy Kerley just outside the goal line. Jets fans riot afterward, burning Tanner Purdum mannequins in effigy. Hundreds of drunk Buffalo fans dressed in those retro tiger-stripe baggy pants jump off RVs breaking tables in celebration.
A defense will score in this game. Being that Peterman is starting, Bowles is going to throw all kinds of exotic blitzes his way to make his head explode. So hopefully the Jets score, cause the offense is going to be bad. -McCown goes down in early 3rd quarter after getting popped by a blitzing CB that no one picked up. -Petty comes in and tosses a long completion to Anderson that sets up go ahead score. -Anderson has 2 catches for 89 yards -Powell leads the team with 6 catches for 50 yards, rushes for 65. -Catanzaro misses an extra point and a 40 yard FG. -Overall offense <275 yards Final score - Jets win 13-10 Edit - Tyrod Taylor is now starting Sunday. Jets lose 20-13
Tank Bowl I is really setting up to be a classic statement game, defining how shitty of a team we really can be. It's gonna be epic.
Tyrod Taylor has been cleared from concussion protocol and is scheduled to start this Sunday per Field Yates.
This will be a very shitty game... The Jets will come out flat like last year.... Toilet and this CS will make NO adjustments as usual and the D will get winded by 3rd Q and we will lose... in typical Jet fashion. But AT LEAST this will keep our hopes up for 2018 draft
I always root for Ws. Jets draft a so called franchise QB - then he turns out to be a bust. That would happen to us, might as well be positive and root for the best performance every week.
Even worse that that with the first and second round picks the Bills have. Our only cjance is 0-16 and possibly 1-15 or 2-14 if we are lucky.
Taking the strategic view I see. This year is literally a race to the bottom. Every win is a loss and every loss is a win. Bizarro I know but this is what its come to in year 3 of our new regime. With all those extra picks the Bills have, the last thing we need is to hand them the #3 overall draft position with a meaningless win or god forbid, two of them.
I'll be optimistic. jets win 16-7. Carried by powell with 1 rushing TD 100+ yards and 5+ receptions. rest of our points are FGs Bills score via a pick 6, fumble return TD, or big 50+ yard play cause we are the jets
So Taylor passed protocol and may play .....they beat him twice last and they'll still sack his a$$ in the process
What good will that do, since he's no longer our LS? Speaking of Hennesey (our new LS), have you ever heard of a team coveting another team's LS? Bowles said yesterday that they had wanted Hennesey for the last couple of years, but he wasn't available. Only Bowles. Sigh.
