I still dont think we are gonna be able to get him but it was nice to see someone thinks we will.Thye do make a good point in why ATL and Oak shouldnt take McFadden, but i still think one of them will bite. http://walterfootball.com/draft2008.php Round 1arren McFadden RB Arkansas Round 2errick Harvey OLB Florida Round 3:John Greco OT Toledo
I read somewhere else that KC was in love with Ryan Clady...I didn't think he would go top 5 thnough. btw-if DMC slips to 6 we have to take him...it's jsut like AD slipping to 7 this year...Minn didn't need him but he ended up the DROY.
Actually picking 6th would make the choice easier for us in terms of BPA. If we do not trade down (option #1), then our choice would be whoever is available from D-Mac, Chris Long or Jake Long. But I am leaning towards the idea of drafting to fill a need. So even if 1 of those guys (McFadden, C. Long + J. Long) is available, I might still want them to draft a Gholston OLB or Laurinitis ILB. Looking at that Walter Football mock draft, I would prefer taking Dre Moore DT w/the 3rd round pick because hopefully, we would have filled our primary need for a OT in FA w/Stacy Andrews.
If we Jake Long which i would hate would he play LT or RT, either way i would think it would send D'Brick the wrong message.
i think brick is a much better LT than he is a RT. Long could play both, so we would pick him to play RT at #6. Can?t see it happening. at least i hope it?s not happening
Im not sure how drafting a player to play RT would make you feel anything, unless dbrick is a insecure
with Sapp?s retirement, i really see this happening again. Chances that the Raiders go DLine are high, imo. Long, Ellis, Gholston all would be good picks for them. And we finally get McFadden.
Ok say if D'Brick struggles early on u dont think anyone would say hey lets switch them and make Jake Long play left.Im sure some will bring that up.
ATL needs a QB. Oakland is a possibility, neither Fargas, nor Lamont, has the same talent. However, that having been said.... It should really go like this. NY Jets trade Chad Pennington, AND Jonathan Vilma and their #6 to Atl. Atl then gets Chad and a First round Pick for a Rookie QB. Jets Get #3, Atl's second and Fourth round picks. Then The jets trade out of that spot with Dallas, Jets get Marion Barber III (Heir to TJones), and Dallas 2 first round picks. Dallas takes McFadden. (hence the availability of Barber...) With the first Dallas Pick, Jets take Okam (NT).With The second Limas Sweed (outside threat at WR). In The Second, and Third, you go OG/T (3 Picks total) In the Fourth, you take Jason Shirley (NT) with one of (3?) your 4th round picks. BTW Junior GM's...This works out on the Draft Value Chart...
sounds good (not realistic, but good) exept the okam pick. i would hope to get groves there, but it?s doubtfull that he will be available. otherwise we still don?t have a pass rush. we should get suggs then
It's not meant to be realistic... It's just the ruminations of someone with no football till April  And that scenario, fills almost every real hole, allowing us to concentrate on Suggs, being the only necessary FA signing. (Okam would be OK, with Shirley from Fresno, you'd create intense competition in the middle, and the ability to be unstoppable when you switch to a a 4 man front....DRob,Okam,Shirley,Coleman, late in games would wear an Oline out.)
Sportprojections do as well. I would be pretty upset if we do draft any RB. PICK TEAM SELECTION 1 Miami Glenn ...Dorsey DT LSU 2 St. Louis ... Jake Long OT Michigan 3 Atlanta... Matt Ryan QB Boston College 4 Oakland... Chris Long DE Virginia 5 Kansas City ...Brian Brohm QB Louisville 6 NY Jets... Darren McFadden RB Arkansas 7 New England (From S.F.)... Vernon Gholston DL Ohio State 8 Baltimore... Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State 9 Cincinnati... James Laurinaitis LB Ohio State 10 New Orleans... Aqib Talib CB Kansas http://sportprojections.com/nfl_mock_draft.html That me spit:lol:
