Reportedly requesting to be traded before deadline....

The league has become ridiculously pass based and this is the vaccine. We have the cap room and he is an ideal fit here with LSU guys in the secondary.

    Patrick Peterson CB 1
    Tru Johnson CB 2
    Morris Claiborne CB 3
    Darryl Roberts CB 4
    Parry Nickerson CB 5

    SS Jamal Adams
    FS Marcus Maye

Additionally, we will have more than enough money to sign a premier pass rusher in FA next year or address via draft (even better).

Not sure I want my top 3 CBs to all be 28 years old in a season where we aren't going anywhere and we're just trying to get our rookie QB some experience. In theory, it sounds great. In reality, seems like a waste of resources.

In order to make trades like this, we would have to give up draft picks. I don't think that's worth it for a 28 year old corner.

CB is definitely not a need, if we hadn't signed Johnson fine. Still need Skrine in the slot. Bad idea to trade for Peterson.
Bruce Irvin, Shane Ray, Emmanuel Sanders ,Mohammed Sanu ,or DeSean Jackson would make more sense

That's for teams that are looking to contend.

This regime has no mandate to make the playoffs. I think they prefer it that way. Making trades for big name players creates expectations nah better to stay cozy and employed.

They already have a built in excuse (starting a rookie QB) and the sacrificial lamb (Bowles) if the fans get too restless.

    Please don't rock the boat.

Peterson is a beast but IDK if it makes sense for us with trumaine already here. claiborne is playing well but he may be gone next year so it's possible we could have peterson and trumaine for the next 3 years which isn't bad. i'm kind of torn on this even though it's not a big need

Sorry, but our premium picks for the immediate future have already been earmarked for offense.

Or at least that's what I whisper to myself in quiet moments.

The price is going to be a 1 and a 4. We don't have it. He wants to go to NO.

I rather spend our resources on building up offensive line and offensive skill players. Maybe some money for a premium pass rusher and that’s it. We already have enough resources invested in secondary. If our coach can’t make it work then this is on him.

Are we one Patrick Peterson away from winning a SB? The answer to that question is a resounding no, I'm not giving up a first rounder + for Peterson.

    I don't think they'll ever get it for a 28-year old CB. In fact, I don't think they'll even get a 1st round pick much less a 1st and a 4th.

Yes, we should sign him because you never have too much defense, right?o_O The only defensive player they should get is a stud pass rusher, every other priority needs to be marked for offense: OL, receivers, RBs. If Bowles can't make his defense work after all that's been invested, then he should be gone NOW. That said, since he's taken over the playcalling for the "D" they've played much better - minus the stupid mistakes they still make - so the talent is there. All that's really needed is a good CS.
