There are several impacts of the CBA situation for our Jets. Here are a few. What are the others you can think of....

    1) That sound you hear? It's John Abraham's value falling! With teams now forced to cut palyers at a much higher volume, the chances of teams finding pass rush options at a cheaper rate has increased.

    2) May not draft a QB with first pick. As above, with more cuts required, chances are guys like Ramsey, etc. will hit the market without requiring trade compensation. Jets brass may thus take the band aid approach to quarterback in 2006 because the cost is low, and use the pick on the best available need, like perhaps Mario Williams. Or, not seeing enough value at 4, we may now trade down and pick up more.

    3) Linemen help will be easier to find. We will see a lot of good, young guards/tackles and d-linemen hitting the market as of tomorrow. This may result in more free agent signing for our considerable offensive/defensive-line needs and using the draft on skill players

    What else?

Just though of another one....Baker is a gonner but the hurt won't be as bad, because now there are a lot of good TE in the market (remember Jeb Putzier, he's been cut!)
