I think Osweiler is going to be "part of the competition" and the guy who plays this year while the Browns rookie, probably taken on the 33, sits and learns. RG III is still in the picture also and probably part of the competition.
They want Mitch according to certain reporters. And apparently, Hue Jackson doesn't think his preferred QB will be there at 12. It's all set up for them to take a QB early. I'm not sure Mahomes/Kizer/Trubisky/Watson will there in round 2. I guess Kizer falls there potentially.
It's amazing how quickly Houston decided Osweiler was not a good QB. They had a good long look at him last year and "nope, not for us" was the answer.

If I'm the Jets I have Kizer and Trubisky visit like a half dozen times each before the draft. I take them out for steaks and introduce them to Goldfingers and (parenthetically is Billy's Topless still alive down in Chelsea?) have their parents visit and do whatever I can to make the Browns nervous.
the local reporters are gonna want Trubisky, he's a cleveland kid they probably covered in HS. I doubt the Browns actually take him but we'll see
No, I think Brock Osweiler is Fitz bad. I don't know what to expect out of Garapollo, but Belichick trading him wouldn't be a good sign, in my opinion.
The Browns wanted the 2nd rounder and had nothing better to waste their money on so they bought it outright..don't be surprised if they don't now turn around and trade or release him. I would think they have their eyes on somebody else, either this year or next.
What is Osweiler's guarantee for 2017? That would be the cash/cap price on a mid 2nd round pick in the NFL today.
I'd say it depends if he trades him in division or not. I can almost see BB flipping Jimmy to Browns for the #12 and then trading that and whatever else to Saints for Cooks.
I'd push it a bit. #6 for #12 and #33 or #6 for #12 and #52 and the Osweiler 2nd next year. After all we're giving up the opportunity to draft the guy the Browns want to play QB when we really want him also. Now just have to figure out who they want. There's so much Trubisky smoke emanating out of their smokestack right now that I'm thinking odds are really good it is Kizer.
